Maybe my 7-run prediction was ambitious?

If it takes him until Sept to find it again, he isn’t worth the effort. We have enough OF prospects to apply the pressure on him.
Yeah, I would think that both Shaw and Duggar will be up by then, barring injuries. Williamson will need to come up in the next month before his window closes. If he isn't up by the All-Star break, I think it is certain both Pence and Jackson finish the season with the Giants.

Allowing an emergency bully man to go 3 inning of scoreless mall is professional malpractice.

Way to let the Pads off the hook, fellas. Well done.

I was looking at this guy's numbers and the Padres have been using him in a rather odd manner. His last three games, prior to this one, have all been starts. He hasn't gone more than 3 innings in any of them but has allowed only one run in 8 combined innings. He hasn't thrown more than 46 pitches in any of those three games. Based on that, I think he gets pulled the next inning.

Already at 50+ in the 4th.

But he had to “start” this game on zero notice (unless the Pads engaged in some gamesmanship).

You are more than welcome to discuss baseball on the board. If you look at the board threads, you will see our "creative" naming of teams in the GDT's are sometimes clever, often not, but still more interesting than "Padres @ Giants". That's who we are. You are welcome to join in. Or not.

Yes, I'm aware of the titles of your team's game threads. I was bored, was just messing around. Relax.

And Craw does his best MVP impersonation there.

I seriously doubt he wins MVP this year, but I do expect him to get some votes.

It is odd that he works more innings, and throws more pitches, in an "emergency" situation versus three other games where he starts and does well (not that he is doing poorly here).

He may make the top 10 but I think he gets buried toward the bottom. Some voters will ignore him purely because another shortstop has similar offensive numbers (Story).

You are probably right. But comparing Craw to Story is criminal.

Craw has all-world D and is putting his numbers up at AT&T vs Coors.

His vote totals will also depend on how the Gs do this year.

Posey arguably had his best year last year, but did not get a single vote because the. Team sucked so bad. And I have never heard anyone argue that Posey was hosed.
