Maybe that could be a way of handling the late round lag issue. When you get to a certain point, you put a group of people on the clock for a set amount of time, then you open it up to the next group, and so on.
I was thinking about this as well, I think the lag has a lot to do with we wait on a couple people half the day when we get late into the drafts. I also agree with what I believe Sushi was saying when we get late into drafts where there are a lot of players drafted and people have to do some research that slows things down as well... People are quick to pick when we are drafting Lou Gehrig or Honus Wagner but when we are picking guys like Joe Heving people are less interested.
I think what might help is when we have this many people in a draft we don't draft a bench and maybe just a few relievers.
personally, I love picking the little known guys, and there have been drafts when I felt my late round picks won me the draft - though no one else agreed . I've been off on this draft because it lags so much that I haven't been expecting it to get anywhere near me and then I have to leave for some commitment or other and 5 picks come in and I'm all of a sudden up and my wife gets texts from Ritz talking about Valentine's gifts........
I picked.I did text Shane to re-pick
I also did text Femur and UK to go ahead and pick.
