Missing, just like they were missing from a National Title game they somehow claim.
Normally I would agree but after 2008/9, Clemson has smoked VT with the exception of that game. I am not sure they came to an ACC-CG unprepared or caught off guard.Catching a team off guard is also a bit different than playing a team in the playoff.
Actually, the 3 teams that have beaten Oklahoma in the CFB Playoff SemiFinals have turned around and lost the Championship Game (Clemson in 2015 season, Georgia in 2017 season and Alabama in 2018 season). It's a tough draw, and OU's Offense actually wears out the other team's defense enough to make that victorious team more vulnerable in the Championship Game. That's my theory anyway.
None of those teams really have a chance; Oregon...maybe? The problem will always be talent. They might be able to win their conference, they might be able to make it to the playoff and heck, they may even be able to win one playoff game. But I just don't see any of those teams competing with the 1-2 teams every year that are truly elite. Put Alabama or Clemson against any of those teams and it wouldn't even be close.
In this playoff format, I'd argue it's almost impossible for teams like that to squeak in and win a national title. In the BCS format or AP/Coaches voting format, teams could get there. It was rare but occasionally happened. When you have to face two of the best teams in CFB you can't just get lucky in a single game or catch a team off guard, you have to win two in a row. That's really hard to do. And I don't think teams like Wisconsin have a chance in hell at doing that.I agree Oregon is the most likely on that list, if you were forced to pick one. I don’t think it will happen though. I doubt we make the playoff.
You have to win road games to win championships. Ducks are bad on the road and have a few tough games away this year. No chance at all.
Fun fact: Herbert is 4-8 on the road as a starter. They are so bad.
Five CFB teams with the best chance of winning their first title
Oregon Ducks
Wisconsin Badgers
Washington State Cougars
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Virginia Tech Hokies
That list is just click bait written by Chris Hummer of 247Sports. The only one of those teams with a legitimate shot at making the playoffs is Oregon - and that's only if a team from the Big 10 or Big 12 doesn't make the playoffs this year. None of those teams would make it past the first round.

Whoever wrote that needs to pull their head out of their ass.
