No reason to hit and run here. But need to get a runner in scoring position. Crawford goes the other way, mostly, so Pagan is not staying at first to keep the hole open at first.

I guess bochy really wants a PH to leadoff in the 8th. Can't see the advantage in not sending Pagan, given the Giants bench.

That might be it...blanco was out by a half-step in the first. But I'd still have given the green light to Pagan.
