At this point, I don't understand why Belt hasn't been put on the IL. He hasn't started in 7 of the last 8 games and only appeared as a pinch hitter in one game, and that was after his last start.

I'm not sure there are many other options for Kapler in today's lineup. Longoria is lucky to still be in the 4th spot, how much he's been scuffling of late. Ruf is an interesting number 2 hitter. That one seems a little more strange choice to me.

Longoria has been brutal so far this month. Hope this gets him going.

On a separate note, the home plate umpire has been doing a good job calling balls & strikes so far.

Inefficient first inning, but so far Mahle is just as bad from a pitches thrown perspective.

2nd inning wasn't pretty but Casali got a hit!

The announcers keep talking about how Mahle gets better as he gets deeper in the game. Those 3 weak grounders certainly suggest that could happen.
