Yep all better than what Washington has. Dalton is fairly equal but he's taken teams (Cincy) to play-offs , people here want to trade for Darnold as an upgrade. Hurts is in a far better position as the organization has committed to him at least for this season. Cam and Jamies are far better and it's not close. What exactly do folks here believe they have in Fitzpatrick? Heinicke? or those other two guys?
Disagree.

All of the qb’s I mentioned are currently worse than Fitz. Cam Newton WAS a world beater, but now he sucks. Dalton was good 5 years ago, now he sucks.

Hurts is absolutely not in a better situation as he has literally nobody to throw to.

Winston is a part time qb this year, with Taysom Hill taking away reps.

Darnold has the advantage of being young, and possibly with actual coaching, could be good.

I would still trade a late round pick for Darnold, but he is clearly not going to go for a second rounder, like I accurately predicted months ago.

now if you hit on a big move up trade you are deemed great but the odds say it doesn’t. Always work .

Making moves out of desperation you can get fuck ups

What If we. Jumped on the DW trade as proposed ? Put aside that the stupid trade proposals that the Texans cap couldn’t handle

he could be facing being on the commissioners exempt list and where would we be now ? Out the picks and the proposed players with the same huge ass hole we have now

It could be worse he could be locked up . Now he deserves due process , don’t get me wrong but I laid out what impatience brings

I warned of us thinking we are better then we are by thinking being 7-9 division winners made us something special .

I warned about our draft status

Now if we trade up for a top 4 pick then we are only out the picks . Are you willing to give up 5 yrs if it fails ? You trust Wilson , Lance and fields that much ?

you all trusted RG 3 when shark screamed bust

I don’t know about nexts yrs draft class . Ridder and Rattler are there along with others
Burrow was on no ones radar when he caught fire
Personally I would try the gamble if we had the team mostly in place . Is it ?
Or do we wait and see if DW and RW can be sorted out ?
Can we win with our o/ line , wr Corp and lb Corp our FS ? Our TEs ?
Can we replace sherf Schweitzer Moses and Lucas through FA next yr ? Thomas ?
Can we retain our d/line ?
answer those questions and your path is clear

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

Good call on Darnold, but I wouldn't want him here even if completely released by N.Y and all it cost was money. This team needs its own Herbert, Allen, or better, not a lateral move, albeit very slightly better than what it has.

If he’s outright released, then Darnold will have multiple offers.

If he’s released I’d be psyched if the WTF’s signed him. Definitely better than an unproven Montez, probably better than Allen, perhaps better than Heine -jury’s out.

I don't think that the risk is very big, he's going to San Francisco not into a situation that won't use him for his attributes. Hell, Kyle Shanahan still has to make a decision on Jimmy G, but clearly he's convinced that either Lance or Fields are upgrades over J. G.

Good teams/organizations aspiring to win Super-Bowls don't sit still, they make fearless, calculated moves, designed to win it all. Sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't but even then Good team/organizations are undeterred.

Lance is the biggest boom/bust QB prospect in this draft. To make that kind of move screams desperation to me. They have a good enough team to win win an average QB without mortgaging the future. We made the RG3 trade b/c our QB situation was horrible and our fan base needed more than just Rex Grossman. I think they made the move for Lance who is super raw. I think the Eagles gave up less to go get Wentz and he was the better prospect.

a true army man fix it all with duct tape
While in the Navy and working on electronic systems for missiles and 20mm cannon we used a hammer to fix everything ..... hit the equipment with the hammer and then stick your fingers in your ears real fast. :noidea: It was a good way to fix those stuck electrons.

The 49ers traded up for Mac Jones.
Wouldn't surprise me he is extremely accurate and without getting into too much detail, seems like a Shannahan kind of guy. Little bit of Cousins in Mac Jones he likes? I think Wilson is a better fit in SF. I really have no idea though. :noidea:

You're on to something but I'll let it play out! BTW; it won't cost as much.
Check in with Bengals at 5. It's totally possible the Falcons chose a defender at 4.

How can a move be both fearless and well calculated? One is a giant risk that you go yolo on and the other is well thought out with pros and cons weighed equally.

I think they’re after lance, if for jones, why not wait at least till his pro day to make the trade?
