Sad to see a true character guy go. Not too long ago he was arguably the best at his position...but those two massive injuries probably did him in.

Not sure they have the cap space to make such a deal. Less than $5 million available and need to save a few million in case of injuries.

I hadn't heard anything about him recently. Was he still starting the for the niners? They seem to have a pretty good defense so far.

Harris doesn't save the Pats much money. Only about $700,000 or so.

It became clear that, going forward, the Niners would be giving more and more PT to Reuben Foster and Ray Ray Armstrong. He wasn't really open to sitting on the bench while he still thinks he has gas left in the tank. Releasing him will give him a chance to contribute somewhere else. A great player that was robbed by 2 season-ending injuries (ACL/PCL and Achilles) in 3 years.

He's a good name, some team will sign him for depth.

He was starting but was getting beat in pass coverage. The team was pulling him out on some downs and he was visibly upset with this on the sideline.

I just heard he asked to be traded or released and his agent notified teams he was available. Apparently one team was interested in trading for him but Bowman nixed a trade to that team. He clearly didn't want a reduced role on a rebuilding team

The Raiders make a lot of sense. They need somebody to step in and help that locker room plus be a voice of veteran leadership on that flailing defense. They have some cap space plus Bowman wouldn't really have to move.

Yeah the Raiders make a lot of sense, but the thing is....his play. He'd be a great leader and such, but he's closer to finished than being a weekly productive player. I'd like to see a small resurgence with someone/get a ring because he's one of the few guys in the league I respect.

He definitely is one that deserves a ring. NE is a team I know is interested but the cap space limitation could make it hard unless he is willing to take a major discount to play for them. Raiders at least have the cap space to pay him a bit more and offer the possibility of a bit longer stay than just this year. Carolina makes sense if Kuechley is out for a while. Houston is another with Cushing suspended. All playoff contenders,.

I don't think he is likely to get much of a contract right now. If he plays and proves he can still play he'll get paid in the offseason.

Send him NEs way. Good character, intellegent, team guy and leader the fits the mold BB loves.
It appears he's been slowed a little by his injuries. I couls see him as a situational guy teaming with HT. Getting some rest and coming in and making big plays. @Ricky Roma says he's been getting beat in coverage and that's what NE could use is a coverage guy who can also get pressure on the QB?
We'll see if he wants to dance? Take a discount for a chance at a ring and a new contract.

He has been getting burned in coverage trying to cover RBs out of the backfield. If NE is looking for a cover guy, that probably wont work. If you need a run stuffer he would probably work out

I think he and Hightower would do well together both are very much alike. I think HT may be the better coverage guy now?
