Smith has gotten the shaft his entire career. First getting drafted by the Niners, the worst team in any professional sport at the time, then they screwed him after two NFC championship games and put Kaepernick in there. Then he takes the Chiefs to the playoffs and gets ousted for Mahomes (understandably, but still bad luck). He re-emerges with the Redskins and gets one of the most gruesome injuries in sports and now he is back against all odds leading them to a pretty good season. I'm rooting for the guy.
Then, there's always the fact that the better the Redskins are, the worse it is for the Cowboys which is always a plus.

we have a big chance to make the playoffs with a 9-7 record if we stay focused

I don't think 9-7 is realistic at this point but I sure do hope that we make the playoffs regardless of our season ending record. For those who are with me on this I can assure you there will be a lot of scoreboard watching going on with all of the Giants remaining games.

Absolutely we will root for more! We are underdogs against the 49ers and in our three remaining games after that we will be underdogs or slight favorites which means all four of these games could go either way.

My original presiction for this season was 6-10, or twice the amount of victories as last year.

while that would be improvement, one side of the WTF’s - the defense - is already better than a 6-10 defense might normally expect to be (though obviously teams have 6-10 records for any number of reasons).
I will say that if the WTFs beat the niners, I dont see how they couldnt beat anyone else on their schedule - seahawks included - to end a miraculous season at 9-7.

I still think that a running qb like Russel Wilson is a huge challenge for the WTF, as they dont quite have all the personel they need to contain him.

If we are to be legit we need to be unless we lose the last game of the year that is meaningless

Although I understand what you mean about being legit I am looking at this from a different perspective. What I wanted was a team the was competitive and played hard. We have seen that the last few weeks. I would like to see that continue but if they end up 7-9 and make the playoffs I am just going to look at it as an unexpected Christmas present from old Aunt Mabel.

Next year I will hope for a little more.
