Fred Dean was a good pickup. Steve Young was an unusual situation. When Tampa Bay picked up Steve Young, The Tampa Bay owner promised Young that if it didn't work out Tampa would let Young chose a destination. Young wanted to go to SF because of Walsh and Tampa turned down better offers to let Young go to SF.

We all know not every pick hits and not every pick becomes an All-Pro. But hitting the drafts means getting more talent than other teams.

At least can tackle, cause a turnover, pass block for 3.5 sec., get seperation on their routes, stay healthy, earn some bonuses!

Looks like there is only 1 QB in this draft. Would be a very profitable year to own the #1 pick.

Right now probably the 49ers but they play the Giants and the Raiders over the next few weeks so the 49ers could probably have the top pick in the bag if they lose both games.

Yeah they will be able to get one of the top DE for sure. Depending on how it plays out hopefully the Giants end up with the #2 pick and the 49ers can trade back one spot and pick up some extra picks so they can take a QB to replace Eli with.

Just looking at the landscape. If the Niners have the top pick (truthfully a tall order with the next 2 games being puff games), they need to work the phones to force the Giants to pay to jump in, or get someone else to overpay with future 1s to get him.

I didn't see the game. It was not televised in my area. Just got to finish the tank this year and the FO has to hit on this year's draft picks.
