I doubt that. Gore had one year where he dropped a lot of balls, but prior to Harbaugh and Co. coming in, he was a reliable and effective receiver out of the backfield. That's one of the things that has just disappeared from our offense. In the five years Gore started before this staff came in, he caught an average of 51 balls a year (58 per 16 games, if we account for missed games). In 2010, he caught 46 balls in just 10 and 1/4 games and was averaging 9.8 YPC when he went down. Since this staff took over, he's caught 61 balls total over three years (not counting playoffs).

Exactly. Not sure why people think that Gore isn't a good receiving back, when in reality that is just not part of our offense. :lame: Passing to the backs will be a much needed addition to the offense when we play aggressive defenses.

JI didn't see Hyde a ton in college, but from watching the film he looks to be a pretty slick back. For how big he is, I see a lot of nice cuts and some good burst.

You would think a Badger fan would hold a higher standard for RBs. You do realize Hyde means it's less likely we'll get Melvin next year?

We wouldn't have gotten Gordon next year anyway, we will be pick 30-32 again and Gordon will be gone before that and Hyde fits this offense better as a tough grind it out guy. Hyde is a tough SOB

Hyde will work for me I was holding hope For Gurley next year.. but at least Hyde does take some of the pain of not getting Lacy last year.

I'm excited for Tank off the edge, seen my fare share of FSU games over the years and he had a serious motor on him

I am not that sold on Hyde being a short yardage power back. He runs too high and defenders get under his pads and gain leverage on him.

He was stopped for negative yards three times all season. Three.

and that's fine cause like everyone else, he has to prove himself first. he'll have to prove he can be a short yardage back and size alone doesn't prove it.

He is pretty damn shifty when he needs to be and he is pretty damn strong when he needs to be too, he is an old school RB
