It's basically back to the way it was before the BCS junk, but with a plus 1 after the most popular 4 teams play. Like it or not, unless the bracket is bigger it just seems stupid to only pick 4 and say "Well that should probably do it, case closed"

Something is going to have to change in Lincoln if Nebraska hopes to be one of those 4 teams anyways.

I agree, 4 teams won't settle anything. I wished it was at least 6 to 8 teams.

I can agree that one of the top 4 are number 1. Last year Oregon and Boise would of been left out but there was plenty of argument for both to be.

You could argue Alabama shouldn't of been but if that was the case they wouldn't win out so no foul no harm.

Agreed. Fans like you are gonna have to stop attending games :dhd:

If Osborne would've kept his nose out it, Nebraska would not have missed a beat. Bill Byrne wanted to search outside of the program when Osborne was going to retire. Bob Stoops was one of the coaches who said he would have accepted a Nebraska offer.

Dr. Osborne had the right to do whatever he wants. he got us 3 national championships. i have no problem with him saying that solich should be the coach. in case you missed it solich was just elected to the HOF....

Solich would have had several conference titles by now and would have made multiple BCS bowl games as well. That is a FACT.

Luckily, thanks to Thomas Osborne, we now have a good young coach who learned under Solich. He will be a champion.

FACT !!!

I often wonder just how well Solich would of did. My guess is that we would have several conference titles. I am sure we would not of gone through the dark age and several records that were lost would still be intact.

We probably would of made an occasional BSC bowl but Dr. Tom would not be AD and we would still be B12.

But it is all speculation.

I do believe that Solich would have been better than the debacle that Pedey hired. I also believe Solich is a better coach than Pelini is.

Overall, if Solich wouldn't have been fired, our bowl record would still be growing.

Solich wouldnt have got us there.

I bet we would have won a couple more Big 12 titles with Solich in there. If we had had Pelini over the last 12 seasons or so, I'm pretty sure our team would have self destructed instead, because that seems to be Pelini's forte.

Maybe is it's more than a coincidence that since I stopped going to games, they haven't been as good as in the past with Osborne, or even with Solich with the exception of the 2002 season? Actually, with Nebraska's reputation of self destructing under Pelini, I would rather not go to games anymore.

I had been going to games since 1968. Consistently from 1973 to about 1999. I attended about 4 games per year in that span.

The reasons why I stopped going was because I got tired of fighting the crowds, and overpaying for tickets. I never bought from scalpers, but the regular ticket prices got bad enough. I usually stood in front of the Sheldon Art Gallery holding a sign up, and there were always people walking by who wanted to sell tickets.
