Too many new faces on the team. Haven't gelled yet. The bully is in flux with Romo and Greek out, and JLo having a bad start.

It sucks, but it is early.

Looks like Duffy is figuring things out. Of course, no one else can hit water right now (Blanco had some nice ABs).

Back in 2013 and 2014, the San Jose Giants bullpen called themselves "The Dog Pound". They would constantly bark during the games, when another was pitching, and even post games during random times of the night, like at dinner. Some names included Strickland, Law, Osich, and Okert. The Dog Pound has made it's way to SF, and it could be here to stay. More nice pitching from Osich and Law today.

The team will start clicking eventually, but there's at least still some good parts.

But the big problems haven't been with the new faces. Its the offense, of which hasn't done squat in what feels like a week (of which only Span is new). Its 3/5s of the starting rotation that are also the returning members (although Bumgarner probably looked his best in the young season tonight). Its the aging veterans of the 3 in 5 run, in the bullpen, who have looked tired and worn out. If anything, for the most part, the new guys are what's keeping the team from completely falling apart.

Pure pain.

This one is somewhat understandable, though. 2 Aces. You knew it was going to be super low-scoring. Bum has been amazing, he just had 1 mistake. Can't blame him. You also can't blame the hitters. Grienke is mother-fucking Greinke.

Understandable, sure. But the team has got to win a few of these dueling aces games, especially when they cannot hold it down against the opposition's 4th and 5th starters.

Amazing what a week can do to change an outlook. Last week, we were one game (against the ace) from sweeping a 4 game series against the Dodgers. Now, we will be lucky in the Diamondbacks don't sweep a 4 game set in AT&T.
