So, I proposed the next draft which will be the NBA should be a draft 2 players from each decade.

1960's
1970's
1980's
1990's
2000's
2010's

Nobody that played prior to 1960 can be drafted. THIS MEANS IF THEIR 1ST SEASON WAS THE 1959-1960 SEASON THEY CANNOT BE DRAFTED!

We will also not be allowed to draft LeBron James or Michael Jordan. I believe this is about as fair as we can make it so the people not getting the top couple picks still have a chance.

Remember going forward the payouts will be.

$3000 vCash to the Champion
$1500 vCash to the Runner-Up
$500 vCash to the 3rd Place Team

The rules are posted in our forum so please feel free to look those over, the rules will be posted once we start the NBA draft however.

I would like to have everything ready to go for a January 12th start date.

Thoughts???

I would include MJ, first round only, but any team that takes him forfeits their 2nd rounder and gets a pick at the end of the 12th instead. As to LeBron, I see him as somewhere between 5-10 ever, no reason to keep him out

I disagree on both, losing a 2nd round pick is easily worth MJ, everyone who has had MJ in our drafts won the Championship.

People tend to overvalue LeBron and it takes a really great team to beat him in the voting.

I would agree to keep LeBron in but not MJ losing a 2nd isn't enough.

I really like this draft idea and I am I'm favor of no MJ or LeBron.

You can say LeBron is 5th-10th best. But that is flat out wrong.

I would vote whoever took him as having one of the 2 greatst players to play the game. And it wouldn't be me who took him, since I hate the fucker.

I'm with UK. No need to not include Lebron. Having him is not an automatic win. Ask the Spurs or Mavericks about that.

MJ, Magic, Kareem, Wilt and Shaq were all more dominant than LeBron IMO

It depends on how many teams we have. What if you took their 2nd and 3rd and replaced them with two 12th's? If we had 10 teams, and you took MJ #1, you wouldn't get another pick till 40-41. That's pretty steep

I agree but not everyone does, remember not everyone is as old as we are and some of the people in our drafts have only seen Kareem, Bird and Magic in highlites.

Also if you noticed the rules you'll see nobody who played prior to 1960 is eligible. Wilt's first year was 1959-1960

2nd and 3rd would be better IMO. Remember if we have 10 teams the person who drafts MJ would lose the 20th pick and still have 21st. Thats not a very steep price to pay, however losing the 2nd and 3rd round picks would be good enough IMO.

What does the actual NBA have to do with anything?

I agree. I would make the stiplulation that anyone who takes MJ HAS to take him in round 1.....not eligible in round 2.....and you exchange your 2nd and 3rd for the last two picks of the draft. That means all the other teams would have 3- 4 starters picked each before the MJ team makes another pick. It would take balls to pick him on that set, would make it interesting too

I used to be a hawks fan wasn't too happy when they traded Wilkins to the clippers. Haven't watched in years it's just not the same to me. Didn't like the direction they took the league .

What if we are playing a 3-4. Do we set up our lineups like that?
