at around what time was this? I'm trying to watch both this and the baseball game. I can rewind for a laugh.

During the 1st intermission. Just as they were going to commercial break before the start of the 2nd I believe. It was pretty bad.

I wonder when the last time the Sharks scored 5 even strength goals was.

Holy moly... this is by far the best ive seen from the sharks since the crazy start to... I think the 2008-9 season when they had the seto-patty-jumbo craziness and had Boyle, Blake, Ehrhoff, and Vlasic all in he top 10 in D scoring.

This year however, they seem a bit deeper and nieto and hertl have added so much speed especially compared to clowe and the D is so much fast too. Pavs on the 3rd line makes that a legit unit too as right now he might be the best player on the team here early on.

3 games is just 3 games, and 82 games is a looooooooong time. However, it sure is fun to watch and it's domination we dont see all too often. Not to mention, they arent sagging in effort for more a shift or two at a time, meaning the effort is consistent.

In other news, Hertl's hands are RE-Dic-u-lous. That breakaway move was Lemieux-esque going 5-hole smooth as can be. Hertl and Nieto are giving the sharks a whole different feel with their speed and skill. They are both playing unbelievably well, and at their ages, it's fair to assume this is just the beginning. crazy how a dim future suddenly brightens in a week!

I know it's early but the biggest difference I've seen in this team is consistency. Even when the Sharks were playing great last year, the first 7 games and down the stretch, they had long periods during a game where their effort level dropped. I know it's only three games but I haven't seen any of that so far this year.

2 goals from the defensed and vlasic is one of them?!?!?! Holy shit wheres rules lol

Im here and loving it. The D this year, to me, is the biggest difference. They are getting shots through from the point, going D to D across the ice beautifully and on the tape, and it's spreading out the defenders and creating space down low. They are also moving the puck beautifully out of their own zone, right on the tap of hustling forwards and breaking out with speed. The D right now is on the top of their game and it's making the forwards look faster.

I can count maybe 1 or two fumbled point plays or shots blocked and cleared. Last year is was like puck to the point = end of offence. Good riddance Mr. Murray.

I hope Todd rests the 33 and over vets for the night. It's in the bag. Pace them for the season.

Sharks opened last season with Patty going bonkers scoring two goals per for like 4 games straight. Him and Pavs carried the goal scoring. This year it's different in that regards too.

since the opening draw he's pretty much been rolling the lines. Even the 4th line got 4 mins in the 1st. Right now, its pretty much the same. Nieto is the lowest thus far with just under 10 mins, and Marleau is the most with 15. In other words, even pretty darn even minutes across the board. I think that's why the effort is some good and so relentless. Everyone has 3 shifts off for each shift on.

Much less puck movement killers on the team. The obvious plus TJ Gag. Hannan, despite playing well, was sat because he's the least talented in moving the puck up ice. It's fun to watch.

Ah damn Dorsett.
