With the exception of LaBarbera the Sharks don't have the best track record against back up goalies.

Judging by last nights game against the Devil I dont think anyone struggles against LaBarbera.

Yeah, Hannan has been pretty solid (despite me thinking that was unpossible). He's done great as long as he's paired with someone who can move the puck. He's really only a disaster when paired with a non-puck-moving defenseman (such as Stuart).

Demers is just average/bad no matter who he's paired with. Sigh.

Demers, no. Irwin, yes. Hannan's play in the first two games has been quite good. Demers contributions to the Sharks transition game have been huge, imo by far the best on the team among the dmen to this point, and surprisingly he's done it without the boneheaded turnovers or being a liability in his own zone. Irwin on the other hand has struggled moving the puck out of the zone and with some of his defensive zone coverages.
