Probably because Miami was where he had his best overall success. But he was with the Warriors for about 7 years, if memory serves. That's when I started liking him. In Miami he started getting endorsements.

I only remember it so clearly because I was Stationed at Fort Meade in MD at the time.

Actually, not true. There is skill involved in building a team whether it's through the draft, FA, trades or some combination of the 3. When looking to sign an FA, you have to know if they will fit in with what you already have with both your roister and system.

With trades, you have to be able to not only determine if the guy you are getting will fit, but also whether or not you are helping or hurting your team by making the trade. It's why the saying "sometimes the best trades are the ones you don't make" exists.

I suppose that's true to an extent. I think its more about money though. Anyway, I have much more respect for a team that builds through the draft and trades than ones who spend their way to a championship.
