But in the NBA, centers dio have to guard the pick & roll. There is a reason why Charlotte runs the same play every time Whiteside is in the game. (this is why Bogut didn't get to play in the last 3 games in the finals -- and why Mozgov gets few minutes)

If other teams could exploit Leonard -- they would do it. I haven't seen it.

He's improved throughout the season.
He's been ok this half.
The first half, he quit defending after the 2nd foul.
NBA D is totally different by position.
It is what it is.
If you're going to compare him to Mozgov or Bogut, then I'll just assume you don't watch many Heat games.

If the other team in the playoffs bases their entire offense (pick & roll ... post-up) based on attacking a single player -- I'm not sure he is one of the best in the NBA on defense.

FYI -- I've watched many Heat games. (NBA League Pass) When teams run their normal sets -- Whiteside can look great & block shots & give great help. Against a well-coached team like Charlotte where they are prepared -- he struggles. I remember 2-3 months ago when AlJeff had 13 points against Whiteside in the first quarter. Every time down, they posted him up. But there aren't many NBA teams anymore (especially in the East) who can run both the pick & roll and have a post game.

Miami will easily win the series -- they are much better on offense -- but Whiteside was terrible on defense in the first half.

Only after the second foul, which was a terrible call.
Before, and since, for the most part, he's been fine.

Before the 2nd foul he was bad also. (5 min to go in 1Q) Walker already had gotten 3 easy jumpers and Zeller already had 7 points.

The banging between Zeller & Whiteside was fun early. (and should continue throughout the series) They were both trying to be physical and get under the others skin.

I hope he continues to be this bad every night.

I love games like this in the playoffs. A comfortable win but not close to a perfect performance. A lot for the fellas to try and improve on before game 3

Batum didn't look good.
Wonder if he's possibly back Saturday, and if so, at what %.
