Nobody completely shuts down a top player.

But the Celtics match up great with anybody on the defensive end.

Same can be said about Miami. People constantly forget Miami was a top 5 defense ALL SEASON LONG

What people are those?

I haven't seen anyone fail to credit Miami with being a very strong defensive team.

Miami finished 4th in the regular season and got the best defense left in the playoffs

I picked them because the big 3 seem close to back on the same page and game 6 Klay is back.
He and Curry shooting badly in these playoffs though.

Picked them because of their experience though.

And Luka has played better than Butler through the first 2 rounds.

If the Mavs somehow get a big man.....they going to be scary for the next 8-10 years.

It could be argued they already are.

It goes back WAY further than that. The Lakers have been doing “super teams” since at least the 70s.

And for the record, the Dubs was a super team, but I don’t put them in the same class. KD was the only core player who joined the monster team. Iggy joined up before they were THE dubs, and he was a good player, but not a game breaker. The real core of the Dubs was always Klay, Steph and Drey. All drafted and developed by the Dubs.
Shit, look at the C's in a 12 team league. They had 7 HOFr's on that team. Like you said the Lakers-C's in the 70's. This has been going on for a long time it's just a different process now.

I mean even look at the mid 90's Rockets. They had Hakeem and Clyde and traded for Barkley.

Yeah, both could be considered superteams, they were just built differently.

Warriors will have a real, real challenge to try to slow down Luka. The good news for the Warriors is that they don't have any big they have to cater to in terms of playing time. This means the Warriors can theoretically play more wings and more switching to try to diminish a lot of the drive and kick threes the Mavs were getting in both of their series.

On the other hand going smaller makes Luka a real problem on switches. Wiggins I think can hold his own(really the unsung hero in these playoffs), but there will be lots of times a double is required. How the Warriors adjust defensively will be the key in this series.

I think Kuminga may be a factor in this series. He fits really well into this because the Mavs don't have any real shot blockers, so he can attack the rim and for lobs. Also he's big and athletic and pretty decent already defensively. He may be tasked with some minutes on Luka.
