Cleary. So actually, the poster got it wrong...we didn't draft him, we picked him up from (drumroll) Chicago.

I knew cleary was 11 thats why I asked. It just didnt look like him with the beard.

Gotta say Im rooten for the Yotes in this one. Partly out of respect for the Red Wings (tougher future potential matchup for the Sharks IMO), as well as pure, cold blooded, vitriolic hatred for the Detroit Red Wings. And lastly to piss off a few Canadians that a team in the Desert is in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Those are good reasons...For the record, I'm not against a hockey team in the desert. Phoenix is a much more desirable destination that Winnipeg and very few people would argue that fact. I've said it previously that a great day in March would be golfing in the morning, a Cactus League game in the afternoon, and a NHL hockey game in the evening. However, when the team continues to lose money hand over fist and there doesn't appear to be anything that would change that fact on the horizon, it's time to load up the moving trucks and head out of town.

That's not to say that there are not diehard hockey fans in the Phoenix area, the problem is there isn't a) enough of them or b) enough of them willing to drive to Jobing.com arena to watch the Coyotes. There's been very little news of late regarding the sale of the bonds and the Coyotes in general, maybe they're waiting until the end of the season to make an announcement.

I agree with your post on a lot of the counts. Ovb we have discussed this topic to death in other threads so don't want to hijack this one, but one last tiny reason I wouldn't mind seeing the Coyotes do well is to (maybe, MAYBE) spark some interest for next season and boost season ticket sales, etc.

I know a number of people from Phoenix... one diehard Coyotes fan (he posted here briefly but got too angry and left), and a number of other general Phoenix sports fans. Most of the general Phoenix sports fans do care and follow the Yotes, but maybe not as hard as their other favorite teams (for some the Suns, for some the Cards).

Anyways, I think this series should be exciting. It is experience, age, and talent vs youth, energy, and goaltending. Really could see this one going either way.

It will be tough for Phoenix to win this without a home crowd behind them in any of the games but I think they will play the Wings tough.

It would be interesting to see if they win this series how much the fans get behind them.
