I have spoken
Its August and we are so close to 14 weeks of fun. Fall camp is getting underway and its time to get away from dumbass summer threads (looking at you @AlaskaGuy ) and start talking real football. To get this thing going, I have a question for everyone. What are the 3 biggest questions for your program going into the season?
I'll start
For Oklahoma State
1. Who takes over at quarterback?
The candidates are 5th year senior Taylor Cornelius, grad transfer Dru Brown, and Freshman 4* stud Spencer Sanders. Cornelius has the time in the program but we are really deep at running back this year and the OL is better than its been in a half decade. I'm guessing we dumb down the offense and end up with the guy who can win with his legs and his arm. Cornelius starts the season but towards conference play its Sanders team.
2. How will Jim Knowles do as the new DC?
Probably ok. He tenure at Duke was seen as being pretty aggressive so it will be nice to get away from the bend but not break philosophy the previous coordinators have employed. That being said our defensive personnel has talent at starting positions but we haven't exactly recruited for depth the last few years so we have little margin for injuries here.
3. Does Oklahoma State compete for a conference title this year?
Probably not. We have Oklahoma and TCU on the road plus West Virginia is supposed to be worldbeaters this year and the media is saying TEXSS IS BACK YALL!!!! which never happens so it's probably true. We need to go 3-1 in that stretch to make the CCG and beat KSU on the road to make the conference championship. 5 tough games when we gotta win 4 with an unproven quarterback and new DC. I'm hopeful but not gonna hold my breath. We go bowling easily but winning 10-11 games this year will be a challenge
