Solid five innings from Blach. I'd turn it over to the Pen from here.

Seriously, why? 80 pitches, it's not like we have a lockdown pen right now. And Blach owns Dodger Stadium.

Because you're playing with fire. Baseball is shifting

I looked at this last year, and I am sure minds smarter than me have done so as well. Last year, I think the Giants were near top of baseball with allowing runners to score (allowing too many, not too few). The Dodgers allowed among the fewest inherited runners to score.

When I looked more closely, I remember seeing that the Dodgers also had among the fewest inherited runners, and the Giants had the most. The Dodger manager was pulling his starters after 5-6 innings, and then brought in the bullpen, not giving the starter a chance to get in trouble. With the Giants' problems last year in the bullpen, Noggin was loathe to bring the bullpen in with a clean setting. And got torched for it. A lot. I seem to recall Gearrin allowing over 50% of his inherited runners to score at one point, but when starting an inning clean, he was lights out.

So yeah, Blach owns the Dogs (SSS), but give this one to the bullpen. Nice work, kid!

Gearrin with an uncanny Romo impersonation there...

Did I mention that I approve of this game EXCEPT for weak ass ABs by Cutch, Craw, and BB9?

He may be a shell of his former self, but I do LOVE his hustle.

We fell in love with him for a reason.
