Giannis in all his post-series media is pushing hard against the notion he wants out of Milwaukee. Indicates he very much wants to win there.

Still bet he ends up in Miami or Dallas

Well he better sign the extension this fall.

I tried working that trade last summer. With Paul's salary, its extremely hard to do that deal straight up. They'd probably have to get multiple teams involved. It's a lot easier if Middleton is in the trade but if OKC is looking to go cheap, and it sounds like they are, then it makes no sense to take back Middleton.

Can he make more by hitting FA over the extension? Considering he's won MVPs, he should be eligible for the supermax.

Bledsoe's possibly the best point guard the Bucks have had since at least Cassell, but I had a feeling they were going to regret giving him an extension.

No, he better not.

Not if he wants to win.

As soon as he signs that max extension, pressure is off the front office to spend.

No, but what he should do is not sign anything this summer, then do 1 and 1s like LeBron did in Cleveland.

That way he keeps continual pressure on the front office to build the most competitive roster possible around him. He also enjoys the leverage of the cap going up in future seasons.

They aren't winning shit with that core.

@buckalis what are your thoughts? Do you think MIL signs him for $15M/year so they can lure Lebron from LA? That should work with their low cap and flexibility...

They actually might be able to. Remember, they were going to be able to add Kawhi to Lebron and AD until Kawhi went to the Clips.

Unless I read the Bucks and Lakers current contracts wrong, Giannis is a free agent after next season and currently, the only Lakers player signed beyond next season is Lebron and that's on a player option.

Obviously they will be looking to get AD signed long term and if they get AD signed, Lebron will opt in for his final year. So depending on what they do as far as retaining guys, they may very well have the cap space to sign Giannis or another top FA.

Of course, we don't yet know what this season is going to do to the cap going forward. If the cap is too low, a lot of teams who may have been in the running for Giannis, may not be.

Correct, they have cap holds so they could still build a roster. Right now the 2020-2021 Salary Cap looks to be $125M but we don't know for sure. But the Lakers also have that Dead Cap of $5 from Deng so even if the Salary Cap is at $125M it would be really tight with a max contract of Giannis and not likely at all.

Lebron is the only guy on the books right now for a player option. $41M
AD would be getting I think 5 years $200M - so $40M/year
As far as what the Lakers could offer Giannis...I'm not sure. Probably around $40M a year or little less. Not sure what the Lakers could offer him at this point.

At this point, it's not very realistic at all especially with the Salary Cap dropping. Staying with the Bucks, going to the Heat or Mavs makes more sense.
