Paxson hit a game winner in game 6 at Phoenix I believe. Series winner as well.

But he didn't bail out Jordan. He was wide open.

Ray Ray got the ball and was covered. Not that it really matters, but Jordan wanted the ball in the clutch.. Not sure sometimes if LBJ wants to take that last second shot. Not saying he was stout in that big game at all.

For another game/series winner, please see Avatar. ;)

You're right, he isnt always looking for it, especially if he isnt shooting good in that particular game. In the old Cleveland days he would still pass off now and then but not as often. I really think Kyrie is that guy on this team, he has the clutch gene.

I wouldn't mind jumping on an AVI bet for this series as well.

Those are facts, not much more I can provide. You said he sucks in the clutch when he has in fact been the best so now you just call him lucky.
The clutch stat is bull shit. I already deconstructed it earlier in the thread. Taking the final shot to win a game has loads more pressure than taking shots in the final 2 minutes of a close game. Lebron has hit a few, but I would still want him taking the final shot to win a game against my team. To me, Lebron is an excellent 6'8 point guard that you want running your offense, but you also need clutch shooters with him to hit the big shots.

No reason multiple people can't get in on the same avi bet, right? Winners post their avi for the losers at the conclusion of the series. Losers choose between any of the provided avis by the winner(s).

I say the avi bet should last throughout the duration of the ECF.

Officially count me in on the "Cavs win the series" side of this bet.

I think Im in for the bet. How long do we have to keep it? I say until 1st preseason football game.

Seems a bit long to me. I suggest either until the end of the ECF or the end of the Finals. Just my 2 cents, though, I'll go with whatever.

also nothing offensive with the Avi. has to be something related to sports. Example: Me giving you a picture of Butler dunking over LBJ or LBj crying on the bench.

ok, till the end of the Finals. That sounds fair.

I guess gordontrue and purguy have an avi bet. Now who wants one with me?

Bengay? I got a good avi for you, if the Cavs win :laugh3:

It is funny that - to me anyway- and someone correct me if I am wrong- but despite being in 5 Finals and winning 2 of them- the best LBJ games - and the ones that first pop into my head are not Finals games.

They are game 5- while with the Cavs against the Pistons- where he scored like the Cavs last 30 some points and was superhuman-

and then the biggest one I think- Game 6 against Boston- after he got beat badly in game 5 at home and it looked like the Celtics were going to get the best of him again- and he went out and showed why he will be considered one of the greatest to ever play- I think that this is his best game in his career.

and a side note- Chris Bosh in the last 2 years LeBron was with the Heat- of course we all know that they made the Finals- and played a total of 12 games- 5 games last year when they got beat and 7 games when they won 2 years ago. In those 12 games Chris Bosh scored twenty points ONCE- when he scored exactly 20 points.

He scored ZERO points in a game seven of the Finals. He is a huge pussy and Love is way better and more important than this fraud.

He's an all star every single season. Future HOF.
Hand picked twice by James (even though he refused to go to Cleveland).
Made an impact in every series the Heat played in for 4 years, but Wiggy says he's no good.

OK.

He is great but what kills him is that he is 2-3 in Finals. Not a great record and 2 of those finals loses he disappeared. Also throw in the 3rd one his team got smacked around(lost 1-4 in series) Then throw in he left his home town team when things got tough and then jumped ship when things got tough again in Miami. He always looks for the easy way. That is my knock on the guy. He is a great talent. I cant argue with that. he just doesn't have the mind set as some of the greats.

I'm talking Bosh.

And as much as I'd like to bash James over his Finals record, he should be praised for even getting the Cavs there.
Last year we were simply over matched.

He shares part of the blame for the Dallas loss, but that was a unique season and his first year with Wade.

lol...he scored 0 points in a game seven! that just cracks me up...i was looking through some box scores and just saw that and remembered it. The Heat need to list him as a SG....its an insult to the position of PF or C to list him as such.

AS for this series- is FINALLY HERE....months of waiting.

Everyone know that this would be the REAL eastern conference finals since the first jump ball of the season.

I love all the back stories. The fact that Chicago has this chance with the Cavs missing $25million (a third of their payroll) in their best two big men- and that it makes Chicago desperate to win- If Chicago loses this series where do they go from there? IT would be devastating to the franchise

The Cavs though have a ton of pressure too. LeBron came back to win titles- and the buildup has been huge. They played the best basketball in the league for the last 3 months of the season . Kyrie exploded on the scene. The trades were strokes of genius by David Griffin (and why he ended up runner up in the Executive of the Year award). If LeBron could bring home a championship to his home town team and break the streak it would go down as the greatest accomplishment of his career.

And just think of all the story lines- Joakin Noah is public enemy #1 in Cleveland ever since he ripped on the city. That whole Bulls team really really dislikes LeBron for all the times LeBron has escorted them to the exit door of the playoffs. So many intriguing matchups-

Kyrie v. Rose
Gasol v. Mozgov
LeBron v. Butler
Blatt v. Thibs
Thomspon v. Gibson is an underated matchup..

The Old Champsionship Quarter to Perkins, Miller, Jones, Marion- can they give the Cavs something?

all the little games inside the game will be fascinating to track and see how the coaches adjust.
