Roll your eyes if you want to, the announcer said the exact same thing I'm saying and thought when seeing it. I thought he was trying to avoid him. If he stays down and takes his shoulder to Miller's head, that would be worse, right? Just from a physics standpoint. Especially since as a goalie Miller is already "below him" so to speak.

You see goalies get undercut all the time and their legs taken out by the scorer who loses control. That is just as dangerous but it happens - forward speeding towards net to score, forward hit in back by D-man or loses control, forward hits goalie. It's a fairly common scenario. I personally think Tootoo is trying to score and getting pushed in the back. That's an awful lot to be thinking about to tack on "i'll take a cheap shot" to the equation. The fact that he puts his arms up (not using them to hit) and tries to swivel his body in the process says to me he was out of control, not trying to harm.

Just my thoughts. I can see why someone would think it wasn't clean though.

Ehrhoff barely touches him from behind, and you can see that Tootoo changes direction without having the puck on a collision course with Miller.

I'm just saying knowing the type of player Tootoo is, I wouldn't be surprised that he knew he wasn't going to score, so he decided to run into Miller instead.

a) it was Tootoo. therefore, there is very, very little chance it was clean intent. he is a piece of shit, and he saw an opportunity to run a goalie and took it.
b) if there is no room to cut to the net, don't cut to the net.
