I see it like he jumped to get out of the way, but choose the wrong angle to jump into.

I'm saying there shouldn't have been a reason to avoid Miller in the first place if he would of continued to skate towards the side of the net, and away from Miller since he already lost the puck and had no reason to charge the net.

He was sort of guided in, but like many have said took liberties in the direction he went. I don't think he jumped to run Miller, but rather avoid him. I wouldn't be shocked if this didn't get suspended though. Or, to continue the inconsistencies, he'll get 6 games and a fine. I'd say if it deserves anything it'd be a game, MAYBE two.

If it was someone with no history I might be willing to consider that viewpoint, but knowing Tootoo I think it's pretty obvious he had every intent to do as much damage as possible. I don't see how he possibly could have avoided Miller by jumping there was absolutely nowhere to go. Although things in the NHL discipline office have gotten better under Shanahan there's still some ambiguity in suspension lengths. However, I'd like to see Tootoo get at least 5 games for that. He knew exactly what he was doing.

Glad to see Miller wasn't hurt on that play.

tootoo is a dickhead, IMO that's the only reason this one should even be looked at by shanny.. guy driving wide trys to defend the puck with his body, then bring it back across as he cuts to the front of the net, the puck gets poke-checked and he's got no option at that point to go behind the net cause the cut has been made, and he cant cut even further with erhoff there, so he leaves his feet and turns his hips trying to avoid the goalie like a running back tries to juke a defender.. i really dont see this one as malicious, sorry sabre fans..

if you wanna say players shouldn't be allowed to drive the net hard like that because its unsafe for goalies, that's one thing, but i dont think this was an intentional cheap shot on miller.. JMO

glad miller wasn't hurt on the play.. i'm still thankful for what he did for the US.. fuck you crosby.

Disagree here. Ehrhoff can take a hit, he's a big boy, and even if he gets a concussion it's not that big a loss for the Sabres (HEYO!). There's a reason we have anti-running-the-goalie rules and you aren't supposed to put yourself in a position where your only option is to do so. You definitely aren't supposed to leave your feet and almost nail a guy back from a concussion in the head, and any counterattacks in the form of either righteous goalie fist or Shanaban are not only warranted but appropriate in this instance.

That said, I'm not sure Tootoo is smart enough to process all of this, so it very well might not have been intentional, but it's not about intention, it's about what he did, and what he did was fucking stupid intentional or no. And Tootoo's got enough of a reputation to sit for something like this.
