With the barren landscape that is goalies available in the NHL this might be a good pickup.

Surprised the Caps were willing to trade him within the division.

/I'm not sure what either has that Anaheim would want rather than just keeping Gibson. Most the Leafs could offer now is one of Robertson or Niemala (Plz not Niemala), Washington even less.

I don't really know what Philly is trying to accomplish with a top 4 of Risto, Provorov, TonyD and Travis Sanheim but good luck.


Edit: Unless Ellis comes back at some point but I had heard a while ago that might not be happening sadly. Even if he does at this point he might not be the same guy.

With that top 4 they should just bring in Mike Smith. At least he is used to playing in front of an awful defense.

Gives Edmonton $16 mil, $18 mil if Smith goes on LTIR.

If they're planning on Broberg and Bouchard both staying on the blue line full-time, re-signing Kulak, and getting Kane around $7 mil that actually doesn't leave them in such terrible shape. Probably looking to trade Barrie though.
