I highly doubt Membou is there at 11 but the Niners might trade up to get him, that’s who I would guess the Niners would be interested in trading up for, him and Campbell seem like the two top O-Linemen and Membou is probably who the Niners want and it seems like Campbell will go to the Pats if Hunter/Carter are both gone at 4.

Well I will need someone to scream and bitch at tomorrow if they get him (or trade up)... so I will target you @Xeliou66 ... don't take it personal, I'll likely be drunk to begin with.

Bengals defense had games giving up: 38, 41, 37, 35, 34, and 44. They lost each one of those games despite the offense averaging over 30 points in those contests. They don't have to be a top 5 unit, they just can't be a bottom 5 unit. Honestly, it shouldn't be that hard to improve. I really liked Lou as the DC, but his inability to adjust to the players on the roster who couldn't do what he wanted, and the lack of overall pass-rush outside of everyone not named Trey Hendrickson made it really, really tough. Lou also stuck with veterans who had aged out way too long (Hubbard, Bell, Pratt, etc...).

The Bengals had their most prolific offense in team history - even better than the SB and AFCC game rums...and didn't make the playoffs. So, yes, they could go balls to the wall and try and score 40 a game...but if they don't fix the defense, they are going to be in the same boat as last year, losing in shootouts because the defense was simply that bad.

Not to mention, offensively - they are pretty set everywhere BUT IOL and maybe 1 more backup swing IOL/OT. Everything else is pretty well covered. The need is on defense, both from a starting stand point, a depth, and raising the overall floor of talent.
I agree with that but it took the Saints three years before they had a good defense again after 2013.

Fixed it for you.
I love Friday's draft night more than Thursday.
Yes round 2 needs to be tonight so guys don't have to come back who are in Green Room. Friday is a fine day to because Trades might happen leading up to. It needs ro be in a home state of ESPN or NFL Network.

Do you guys have a preferred method of watching, such as on TV, online, local channel if they carry the draft for your team, etc?
I usually opt for the NFL Network, altho I'll switch over now and then to catch ESPN's take on a pick here and there. I might be on the road Sunday for part of day 3 and if so, I'll listen on the SiriusXM NFL channel.
I'll be watching on Animal Planet.

I NEED to know who Team Ruff will be drafting with their 1st round pick.

Agreed - it could take some time, but I don't think the defense is "that" far off. I think the young DB's are OK, maybe not great, but they were asked to do a lot of things that, IMO, they weren't really suited for. One of Lou's downfalls as a DC was not adjusting his plan for what the players did well, and didn't do well.

Ossai came on late last year opposite of Trey - finally, after Hubbard got injured, but Hubbard's play had been subpar for 2 years now. Again, an area Lou struggled in - moving on from "his" guys and doing what the defense needed. Upgrade at DT with Slaton over Rankins, and Jenkins and Jackson from last year will be healthy this year - and I expect them to add a 3-tech/rush type DT in this draft. Logan Wilson is a really good LB, they need 1 more, and they need another S at some point. I think the change in DC, and some infusion of youth/talent in this draft would go a long, long way to getting the Bengals better.

Again, I'll posit - they don't have to be great...good even. Just middle of the road 16-21st area. They just can't be bottom five, and have games where they give up an average of 35 points a game. Their season average of just over 25 PPG would be much, MUCH worse if they hadn't faced some of the most inept offenses last year in the Browns and Giants. Had a few other games that they only allowed 17-23...but again, bottom tier offenses. Against any kind of team with a playoff shot - they wilted.

Apparently a lot of buzz about a team trading into the top 5. If it’s to #2….I might just give up
While don't put much into these did hear on way in today shefty is reporting Jags-Browns could deal with the 2 and 5 picks. Of course, was one of those nonstory stories. Gave the report as though good chance will happen to get those clicks then something along the lines of talking and could happen.

Duh....anything could happen and teams talk all the time.

Honestly, don't see us being so obvious with what we are doing so not taking Hunter #2 wont surprise me.

Agreed. I think the best option, if either Nolen or Harmon is there at 17 - you take 1 of them. Instantly upgrade the run and pass-rush from the DT spot, which is needed.

In round 2 - you have your choice of DE/IOL - I think this draft is a tad bit deeper at IOL, so I could see them going DE here and then the DL is pretty much set.

IOL in round 3 or 4, but hopefully round 3 with a few guys that should still be around...but as we are all well too aware - the draft can be unpredictable and if a run happens on a specific position - that can really alter your plans. I wouldn't hate it if they just hedged their bets in round 2 with an IOL, and then just get BPA in round 3 for DE/LB/S/CB....the need for a real IOL is huge, and quite honestly - one of the last major needs on that offense.
Did see a story FWIW KC could take Henderson. Hope he succeeds - and he'd kill it there I think - but can it be in the NFC please?

I think KC could absolutely take Henderson. Its just where he fits on the draft board. On paper, late 2nd seems like a pipe dream and late 1st seems like a reach.

I would add OT to this list. Not many great tackles in the NFL outside of the 1st round.

Rams starters are a 2nd round RT and a UDFA LT. Bills starters are a 2nd round LT and a 3rd round RT. They can be found, just not as easy.

I think if you love the guy he seems worthy of a late 1st.

1st rounder on RB right after getting f'd up in the trenches in the SB would be unpopular.

That said, I know how important the Jet McKinnon role is to the Chiefs. It could happen

...and fans might have flashbacks to a previous 1st round RB that flamed out (not that they're equal prospects)

Have to assume your FO does not care what fans think.....and they shouldn't. Not to say a pick in trenches should be overlooked.

There is some logic to the idea that the Chiefs 1st round pick is a luxury pick and should be BPA. RD2 and RD3 will have trench players available they just wont be on the outside. Obviously RB is the same. Chiefs can find DT, RB, and G. The player matters more than the position.
