Like they didn't want Stanley, Kupp, Moore to pay a bigger price??
Clearly they didn't. You can't get everything. Sometimes you commit, other times you wait and see. What you don't do is think "we'll let them cut him - then swoop in", that's a recipe to lose a player to any of 31 other teams who are thinking "we'll let them cut him - then swoop in".

I'm not so sure of that. A lot depends on what the asking price is before being cut. NE had the most cap, so in most cases could out bid most teams. The only negative then becomes the player. If he doesn't want to come to NE he's not coming. If that's the case did you really want him here via trade? I want players that want to be here and will play hard for Vrabel and the logo, not the name on the back of the jersey.

Actually you are making my point. There are a lot of variables involved.

Eating a sandwich and watching Zolack & Bertrand on NBC Sports Boston.

Zo just went off the rails.

According to a sports media guy named Steve Palazzolo ........ The New England have told him that they will no longer pursue a WR in free agency, nor will they be taking Tet McMillan with the #4. They might look at who is available Day 2. Jalen Higgins??

It's what they should do anyway. Again take a LT then worry about a WR later.
LT
IOL
WR or RB

It does make me wonder or raise two questions.........................

1. Are they Patriots still considering trying to sign a free agent LT or trade for a LT?

2. Are Patriots done signing any more free agents??

I think they are done, less potentially the Center from Minn, I can see him sliding in.

I know, no more than anyone here or any paid media poster. My train of thought is there are three LTs of interest to me and we could move down as far as 10 maybe 12 and still get one of those three. And I like the rookie deal and five year option from a business perspective that makes the most sense.

By trading down and getting additional round three picks we can easily address IOL and WR. Because there is good depth at RB we may even be able to go LT IOL TE WR then RB. But this is just one man's opinion.

Word is the Bradbury deal is already done and he is our new center.
I have no interest in the remaing FA LT's and it appears NE does not either.
There are a lot of ways we can go about getting one or more LT's in this draft.
I'm ok as long as we do it!

Saturday Morning Rumor.............................

According to ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler, the Patriots have former Seattle Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett "on their radar."

"They're looking at players like Diggs. Tyler Lockett I know is on their radar as well," Fowler said. "They're also looking for some trade options for something that might work for them down the road."

Of course, a 32-year-old Lockett isn't as significant of an addition as the likes of Metcalf or Higgins would be, but nonetheless, the veteran pass catcher could be a valuable acquisition to bring into a receiver room desperately searching for improvements.

He would certainly help the WR room. But he's really a #3 now. Good teammate, actually one of the few players I liked on the Seagulls.

But at what cost do you bring him in? 32 already and on the decline. Sign him for a year? Slightly above vet min? Who does he replace? Jaquae Jackson and John Jiles? NE will certainly at least draft one WR. I'm giving both Polk and Baker another year. Hollis and Pops you would think are locks. That leaves Boutte and Bourne. Did I miss anyone? So is his vet presence for a year worth it?

Depending on the price, he could be a good mentor

Boutte, Douglas and Hollis are all locks.
Every one else is fighting for their NFL life.
