Tunsil and Hendrickson are elite. Lattimore has to be better for sure or that trade hurts.

I dont see us trading away picks for high priced vets once Jayden gets paid. Right or wrong Adam is going for it. It's a gamble for sure, but at least he's gambling on "sure things" and not trading away our future to take a flier on RG3 or some rookie.
Are they sure things ?

Tough pill to swallow. I think Adam came here with every intention of building slowly through the draft. Jayden changed that. Thom Loverro wrote a good article in the Times today talking about this.

I'm holding on to 29 for sure.
If he is doing that then perhaps he is a big mistake as a GM . If he is such a judge of veteran talent then I would think he can draft well

Time will tell but 12-5, two playoff wins and a trip to the NFC Championship is pretty strong in your 1st year as a GM. Most wins since 1991 SB.

As I remember it everyone wanted a real GM here instead of Cerrato, Allen or Rivera. Tough crowd.

I like AP and feel he has done a great job . That being said the idea he can make spectacular trades but his draft picks are “ risky “ doesn’t fly with me and that is the underlying theme when justifying the Tunsil trade. The vet is safe so we can overpay in draft picks and criticism is not warranted.

Getting Tunsil doesn’t bother me , the cost of draft picks is 2 to 3 too many

Commanders signed RG Nate Herbig, formerly of the Steelers, to a one-year contract.
Herbig missed the 2024 season with a torn rotator cuff. He has 30 career starts with most of his snaps coming at right and left guard, though he has seen limited work at center. The age-30 lineman will play a depth role for the Commanders.

I think Tunsil is the biggest prize in of the off season so far. Even more so with Cosmi all or most of the year. Coleman was okay for a rookie LT but no where near a 5 time PBer.

Top left tackles don't grow on trees. I am okay with what they gave. We'll have to agree to disagree on that point. Proof will be on the field, not in this forum.

I did not think Dieter was horrendous. The combination of Dieter and Allegretti was below average. Saying that, I would not have retained Dieter.
He was routinely getting trucked and run through like a Josh LeRibeus. Pass blocking PFF, for what it's worth, was 41.1. I think it's all irrelevent anyway as they signed Herbig who was to start for the Steelers at center and will be a far better backup.

As you said top 5 lockdown LTs just don't become available, it would have been malpractice not to be involved. People who are criticizing the Tunsil trade are not thinking it through. Not only did they land a star on a team that had what 2-3 A players the trickledown also makes this a very important acquisition.

Now they can move Coleman and upgrade another position so not only did they make a dramatic improvement to one of the most important positions in football they have now upgraded 2 spots on the OL. The RT or guard who has been replaced is now an important backup adding crucial depth to an OL who had very little depth last season.
