Big time needs for plug and play draft picks throughout the roster. What is this new, much to prove coaching staff thinking? Where is the emphasis? What's priority one? What is the second priority?

Offense: We know rushing the football has been mentioned, are they really satisfied with the oline currently on the roster? Another WR to start opo Lamb seems desired.

Defense: Slot Corner is a hole, as is a starting spot opo Bland. Defense against the rush? Is this DT and LB or just DT? Do we want another stud off the edge?

Dallas like most teams need more top 150 picks and less 150 to 300 picks. There are still 10 selections with 7 in the less preferred tier.
Trade down, trade up, draft day trade, something must be planned. Is this where Steele is traded?Donovan Wilson?

I DO NOT THINK JERRY AND STEPHEN WILL BE COMMANDING THIS ADVENTURE. They will be seen on the phones in the command center as always. Might get a TV interview too, but this draft like the first Parcels draft will be all McClay and Schottenheimer with heavy input from Adams, Riley and Eberflus.

Pretty excited myself.

I don't see a starting RB after round 2. There are 4 RB's that I see as starters. I think they are all gone by round 2.
Man I sure hope we find one at 76 cause without a trade back, I do not prefer RB at 12 or 44.

My GM thoughts would be CB or WR at 12 with some sleeper in mind for later rounds at the position not selected at 12. This week I am in love with the Zona oline guy, Jonah Savaiinaea at 44. I sure do if this team is really about establish a dominant running game.

I've read some things about Savaiinaea and watched some high lite packages. He was a Dallas visit last week. 6'5, 330, versatile, scheme proof and a physically dominant lineman.
15 starts at RG
16 starts at RT
5 starts at LT

THEY HAVE SAID...they want versatile players.

I want a bell cow starter. Jeanty, Hampton, possibly the Ohio State backs. I don't want another running back by commitee. I would like a two back rotation. But I don't want to go into the season experimenting on trying to find a #1. We absolutely need a strong running game this year.
Then you probably need to go there at 12 OR perhaps go with what I see as maybe a better option and take an OL there. I get it if you love Jeanty that much and personally I'm much higher on Hampton than most, but I'd love to see a high end starting caliber RG or LT added to this group. I think it would do wonders for both our running game and our passing game and perhaps just importantly help keep Dak standing upright.

Once we pushed Zeke to the background and gave Rico the clear #1 role our running game was probably better than league average. I think we can replicate or even improve on that this year by adding a good OL to this team (one of Hoffman, Steele or Guyton sits) and that potentially gives us a great OL going forward if Guyton develops into a player. Then you still add a RB to this group after round 1 this year. That gives you 3 RBs to find a running game behind a really good OL and if missed on all 3 we grab one again next year through FA or the draft. I wouldn't be upset with a guy like Jeanty (and in my case Hampton who I think is a stud) of course either, just pointing out there are other ways to get to where we need to be IMO.

This time last year Luther Burden was thought of as a top draft 10 pick. Now you don't even hear him as a top 5 WR in a weak WR class. I know his production dropped off a cliff but I was reading that was more due to targets and the offense in general. I'd have a hard time passing on him in round 2. There was a concern about him losing explosiveness but he ran a 4.42 at the combine. Huge round 2 target for me if he drops that far. I just can't make sense of these other guys being more worth pick #12 than him be worth pick #44.

I think there is a chance Jeanty, Hampton, Henderson and Johnson are all off the board by the time we get to 44. Doesn't mean we need to take one at 12, but it should factor in to their decision making. I think Oakland and Chicago in front of us could both go RB, though the Bears may go Warren

We do have a need at CB and WR. I would have no problem with WR at 12 if Jeanty is gone. I am not sold on Johnson at CB due to prior knee injury. I will take a look at Savaiinaea. I am not familiar with him.

Checked out Savaiinaea. He would be a good pick up in the second round if RB is gone.

In the ESPN Draft simulator I'm trading back multiple times and stocking a lot of picks
This draft will be unpredictable .depending on their board I could see a trade down happening. I could see a team trying to trade up in front of Dallas for a receiver. It could get crazier than usual

I could be dead wrong, but I think it's going to be very hard to get amy value trading back. Might be like 10 spots to get a 3rd type deal. Everyone is in the same boat and no one wants the QB's

You're right. I just think it's a very unusual draft. Like 11-12 kids that would have been 1st rounders in last years draft, and like 45-50 similar grades after that. I think if there is much trading it will be early 2nd trying to get into the back of the first

Not me. I am not taking the chance for another team to jump us. The only trade I may do would trade down to 17-20 for a high second round pick. I have seen too many times teams have jumped us and snagged the player we wanted and needed.

Jump for who? I don't see much of a drop off in who's gonna be available and who we can get later. If 14 wants to jump 13, I'm selling. Then if 16 wants to jump 15, selling again.

Yep, get past a few on the top of the heap you can toss a lot of the rest in one bucket.

Yeah, I think that's the problem. I do think it will be possible to trade back, but without much value. According to the point chart, a trade back from say 12 to 18 would be fair if a late 2nd was included. I know if we were at 18, it would take one Hell of a player for me to want to give up our 2nd. So if you net say a 3rd plus 18 for 12, that's under on points. Would that be a good enough value?

Cowboys need to be careful trading down. One year they traded down a long ways in thew first and only got a third from the Niners. They should have got a 2nd round pick. I think that was the same draft they drafted that bust Escobar.

Let's hope a few other teams are targeting a player they fill there's a need to move up for.

I'm not suggesting we jump out of the first rd.
