I wonder who they want to see here? Egbuka, Simmons Williams,Henderson Judkins come to mind

Another Ohio State dude i would love to have here....Will Howard. If he's on the board in round 3, it would be very hard for me not to take him

Those are all good kids. Would love to have Simmons, I like Williams nearly as much as Grant, but the guy I think is a sleeper is Henderson. That kid is awesome. I think he will be like the Gibbs kid from the Lions
Henderson may not be there in the 2nd. But if he is I would not hesitate.

Regardless, the point isn't whether he is top 9 or 11 or 14. Picking that out of my post as if it was the point is just ignoring the actual point being made. So, I'll take that as no one is disagreeing with the point that I was making. I could care less if someone wants to rank Dak as #3 overall or #25 and I can make a case for both. We are all entitled to our opinions and opinions can't be wrong or right they can only be agreed with or disagreed with. History has thus far proven this one incorrect. Maybe it's the next 4 years when we win a SB...:hope:

Even if you take age and money out of it, I have him around 10th.
Mahomes
Allen
Burrow
Jackson
Herbert
Danieis
Hurts
Stroud
Love
Stafford
Goff has been to a Super Bowl and an NFCCG, same for Purdy and Purdy has kicked the shit out of Dak at every turn. At some point, playoff success matters. Cousins is about even. Kyler is better.
I'll give you Tua because of the concussions, but if healthy they are even but Tua is younger. I think everyone here including you would trade Dak straight up for Caleb Williams or Drake Maye.
Michael Penix or Bo Nix...If we could cut Dak and be rid of that $240M contract and have Penix or Nix and their contract, I would in a blink. I just dont see how we can get Dak to top 5 even woth the bluest tinted glasses

I mean, you're welcome to your opinion Bro. If we could have Bo Nix and his contract instead of Dak and his, IMO, we would have a legit shot to build a Super Bowl team over the next 4 years. Our team isn't going to a Super Bowl paying Dak $60M unless we get a different ownership group

I see no way this team doesn’t take Offense in round one unless something changes between now and the draft. I also think a trade could happen and I don’t mean a minor trade to pick up a marginal starter or a backup like they’ve done thus far in free agency. Maybe before or during the draft or maybe not for a few months but I think that might be their plan. They obviously had no interest in using the cap space they freed up on free agents. As currently built this team can’t possibly think they are going to just run the ball every down and have success.

That's interesting, because if I were just guessing today, I think they take Will Johnson or Mykel Williams. Not necessarily who I would take but I thought they would go defense over OL. I think they would take Jeanty but he will be gone

Johnson would help the team more IMO... I'm still hoping for one of Membou,Simmons,Jeanty or Warren to fall

5th - 149, 171, 174
6th - 204, 211
7th - 239, 247
257 Total Draft Picks This Draft

We need 5 starters/contributors from this draft.
Starters, Rotational and package players all count. Picks 12, 44, and 76 seem to require hitting outta the park. Our seven picks from the last 100 plus draft picks have to deliver. Trade back in round one or two to gain another top 75 pick should be considered if something were to materialize. Maybe package a 5th and 6th to gain a 4th will play out. I'm thinking THIS is where Will McClay needs to shine his best.

What position groups seem the more likely where you could find that first game rotational / package player on Day 3? I think it's a 1 tech DT, RB, slot corner or dime DB-LB....maybe a two down thumper LB or a guard.

Those early picks need to include a corner and a WR. Least to me they do. I'd still stand at 12 and draft Membou, but I don't see SF letting him past 11 if he were to fall.

what rotational DT is a 4th, maybe a 5th rounder?
Oregon DT Caldwell, 6'1 340, quick run stuffing day 1 contributor.

what rotational DT is a 5th, maybe a 6th rounder?
Indiana DT C J West, 6'2 325, very quick, attacking one gap.

RB's galore day 3 SHOULD THIS NEW OC & OLINE COACH like a certain back for their day 3 emphases towards THEIR run game vision.
I might draft RB round two should they get the Mizzou OT first pick.

I've read about a guard outta Sacramento State ranked 125 to 175 where two scouts think his tape don't lie, they say NFL starter.
Jackson Slater, 6'4, 320

In the last 10 Dallas drafts we have averaged 2 first year starters. In Drafts we picked for need it's closer to 1/0

right
like TE at 12 or fucking Howard at 76
One of those will be an all pro and the other a starting QB, so if they are the best two on the board they would be a Hell of a lot better than a busted Mazi, Guyton or Taco. You keep carrying the water for Schoony too, I'm sure he will be the next Kelce. Jerry might have you conduct post draft interviews, he likes folks that love his picks

That's not enough when you ignore free agency. Plus, they are mostly early picks. Players picked in the 4th round or later in the last 5 years that have been starters or even consistent contributors have been few and far between

Total picks post 3rd round 2020-2024: 25

Guys I would label starters or consistent contributors (so far of course their careers can still develop):
2024: 0
2023: 0
2022: 2
2021: 0
2020: 1

That's 3/25. I can't imagine many teams are worse. Of the above two are 4th rounders and one is a 5th rounder. Maybe we should just be trading those late picks for potential starters or backups because we sure don't seem to hit on any of them. This team has no chance to become a contender unless they hit on their early picks. #12 and #44 are our best chance to get players that will help us turn this ship around. We need at least one of them to be a star. You win in this league with superstars not good but not great players. Don't blow it.

point missed again
always the same two too.

oh well
How is that point missed again? You're babbling about getting 5 starters or contributors in this draft. That would be great but all we are pointing out are the facts about their last 10 drafts
