I read this tonight.
NFL GM: Draft has '5 blue-chip' prospects and 40 players graded 1st-2nd Round.

5 +40 = 45
looks good for pick 44.

the 5 blue chippers according to this GM.
Hunter, Abdul Carter, Graham, McMillan and Starks.
Hunter, Carter and Graham are usually top 7 anywhere in look. McMillan and Starks are all over the place. I think as you said, it looks good through 44, so trade back and pick up an extra picks. The value 12-25 will be nearly the same as far as prospect rating

Yep I think that's going to be the tough part. I think we need a lot of luck. Giving away 4ths in back to back drafts is a disaster for a team that doesn't use FA and depends on the draft alone for new talent. Aside from the fact that that 4th might be a starting caliber player, it really straps you in that we almost have to use two of our first three picks on RB and DT. It also all but ends any chance of giving up a pick to move up a few spots if a possible star like Graham is still on the board at 8 or 9. Complete mismanagement

Dipchit Kiper is mocking Omarion Hampton to the Cowboys at 12. It would piss me off if this happened. It a weird draft though. I don't mind a trade down as long as they get good value.. But I would prefer they not trade down if certain players are on the board.

The one thing also is this team tends to draft very badly when they got lots of picks. Yeah I give credit to them for getting Beebe. But I also got to give them a thumbs down for all the busts, especially lately. They missed on consecutive first round picks..

These dumb fucks do not seem to be changing how they do things. They look like they be dragging their feet. They should have signed Micah already. The signs are already there that they are going to do this as slowly as possible They going to screw this up.

Kiper has lost his mind. Last year the Cowboys wouldn't pay a little more than they paid to get Zeke for either Derrick Henry or Barkley but now they are going to use the 12th overall pick on RB2? Even Jerry isn't that as the wind blows....I think lol

They are going to drag Micah out so they can pretend they don't have the money to sign free agents. "Selectively Aggressive" LMAO. Go fuck yourself Stephen

I would love to Starks or really either of the two top safeties.

I totally disagree with that. Now of course some guys who go in the 12-15 range this year will disappoint and some in the 25 range will be great, but I think that is just trying to talk yourself into trading down. The NFL is about stars and there is a better chance to find one at 12 than 25. Other than Tyler it's been a decade since we hit on a draft pick in the 25 range. There is a reason for that and every year there are some saying there is no difference between pick x and pick y and every year there is. It was discussed non stop last year also. If there are so few "first round grades" tehn it is even more important to pick early

Moss wa
100%. The whole league passed on Tom Brady 5 times each and nearly every team passed on Randy Moss. I think modt scouts put too much faith in what a guy runs his 40 in or how many times he can bench 225. What boggles my mind is sering guys passed on that even a guy like me knows are going to be great. When Jalen Carter fell to the Eagles at 9 I about shit my pants. Some scouts should try watching football games
Moss was about baggage completely had absolutely nothing to do with Talent. I was still pizzed we passed and was mad again when he went to NE for peanuts and Jerry passed again.
Fog Onward did you like those 3 SB’s F@#$ U Jerry . The greatest marketing man ever in the NFL and the guy that makes Matt Millen look like a Hall of fame GM

Only in Dallas …..

Cowboys are sitting in a good spot. If a team wants to trade up I would make them pay the price. I would say a 2nd rounder this year and next year. I would not trade down in this draft to the 20s and expect good things to come of it. Especially if they were to pass on a legit pro bowl / all pro player. I get that these jackwads are trying to make up for the two fourth round picks they threw away. Still I don't do it if a stud is sitting there at 12. I Dont care the position. If Jeanty is the last blue chip left I take him.

And don't get started on those great second round busts and reaches.

I would normally agree with you, but maybe not this season. Instead of the normal 17-18 legit 1st round graded players in the draft, most scouts i listen to agree that this year that number is more like 12-13 max. And one of those is a TE, so you might as well say 11-12 lol. The problem for us is we area picking for need. I'll give you an example. Let's say Osa leaves and Dallas decides they want a DT at 12. The only DT I've seen that most agree is a legit R1 grade is Mason Graham, but he will be long gone at 12. There are like 7-8 DT's that may not be the blue chip guy, but are all almost dead equal in grades or potential...Walter Nolen, Derrick Harmon, Tyleik Williams, Kenneth Grant, Deone Walker, Alfred Collins, Shemar Turner, Omarr-Norman Lott...so you pick anyone you want from that group...and I'll tell you that's a good prospect, but i can make an argument that the last 3 kids from that group will be just as good as whoever you take, because they are all pretty even. That's why I trade down. Same test at RB. Let's say we want RB but the only R1 guy, Jeanty is gone. Kiper just mocked us Hampton, so let's say that's your next guy. I'll say he is good, but if I took Johnson, Henderson or Judkins in round 2, they may not be Jeanty, but they are right there with Hampton(I actually prefer Henderson). If we found a trade partner I would make the move but I respect what you're saying

That's why Jerry is a terrible GM. He let the Owner worry about image instead of listening to the GM telling him this guy is a HOF talent.
