I think it depends on the age of the player (i.e. 18 or younger I think they need to wear a full cage).

Watching these games (and pre-tourney) is getting me so excited for Mateychuk to join the Jackets next year. So smooth and in control.

After pre-season, I really thought he could have made the team this year. If we weren't so loaded on roster filler at D, he probably would have.
