I think two 14-2 teams and with what’s at stake. One gets a buy and home field, the other is a 5th seed and on the road. Don’t recall a team with this many wins being a road wild card

Correct. Since 1990 there has been no 14 win team getting a wild card... There is only one 13-3 team in history that got a wildcard, it was the Titans when the Jags went 14-2 in 1999. Now with 17 games you could argue they would've won their 17th game and been 14-3... but yah.

And of course the Jags/Titans were not matched up in the final week... so to your point this game is a bigger impact. Again, bold statement, but you might be right and it's hard to argue against. There's been a number of 12 win teams stuck with a wild card. Most recently the 2018 Chargers and 2022 Cowboys, but neither were matched up against the division winner (Chiefs/Eagles respectively) in the final game, those years.

Falcons went from lolcow with Cousins to unironically interesting with Penix relatively quickly. I don't think they are an auto-loss with Penix in the playoffs necessarily.

The Lions offense will have to play a near perfect game to win. Playing on the road, where they're unbeaten, in the playoffs is far less important than the bye, which they need desperately. Anzalone might be back, but he isn't 100% so probably won't help all that much. These are 2 evenly matched teams at full strength so I'm not getting my hopes up. Regardless of what happens there will be a playoff game.

Never would have thought at the start of the season that this would turn out to be the game of the season. The Lions were expected to be there all along, but few had the Vikes being in the thick of it, so a hearty congrats to them in making it to this point.

It really is a game where very few people in the fanbases are expecting their own team to win.

Lions because of injuries. Vikings because of history.

It just sucks that either of these two teams will be forced to come back next week and play on the road after this type of game.

Don't plan on posting much win or lose. I think MN takes it, lions defense just so banged up otherwise I'd pick Detroit.

We'll see, Detroit offense will score points....

I had them over 6.5 and thought people under estimated them.

Didn't have in line for top seed.

Koc should be coach of the year

Some good candidates for the honor, but I agree that he should and will be coach of the year.

Also if it's a tie the Lions get the #1 seed, which I was repeatedly reminded recently

Well the Lions can either win, lose or tie. So it must be at least a 33.3% chance of a tie happening. According to everyone’s math anyways……,.

I'll take the Vikes by 4...should be a very tightly contested game.

With all the games that meant something today. I hope both teams show up. Outside the Broncos/Bucs it seems every other team packed it in.

Note: just taking about today as the Ravens and Bengals played good yesterday.

Oops forgot about the Chargers, no worries not that their “fan” cared. :D

This is a big enough game that I'm going to put a pizza in the oven. What is better, Digiorno, Freshcetta or Screamin Sicilian?

Well if you’re not getting delivery, I’d say Digiorno.

Because “if it’s not delivery, it’s Digiorno.” :heh:

Lions win late with a FG.

I have a huge pot of Texas chili on the stove tonight cause it's a blue northern here with expected 28 degrees overnight.

:bolt:

I am honestly done with the big meals....Turkey, Ham and Prime Rib in the last month with tons of leftovers and soups is making me want crap that teenagers eat. Plus, I'm the chili guy when I go to Tucson in a couple weeks, so I'll get more than my fill of chili then.

Sounds good when it's cold, as it is really a nice stick to your ribs kind of meal.

All I have is Screamin Sicilian, just wondering what others think of the other 2.
