The only thing he really brings to the table is:
He is a big guy and takes up a lot of space, often drawing double teams.
He is worth keeping on the team but not at a premium salary......
That deserves a premium. drawing double teams is like adding another player.

play on special teams for the new kicking game.....
Under the new rules, the kicking team's kicker will continue to kick from the 35-yard line. But rather than be flanked by his teammates, the rest of the kicking team will line up at their opponent's 40-yard line, eliminating the traditional running head start. The returning team will field up to two returners in the backfield, and the rest of the team will line up in a new "set up zone" between the 30- and 35-yard line.

Explaining the NFL's latest concussion controversy and policy change

Besides the kicker and returners, no players from either side will be allowed to move until a returner touches the ball or the ball hits the ground. Fair catches, in which a returner could signal that they would catch the ball but not attempt a return, will no longer be allowed.

Another major aspect of the change is the elimination of a team's ability to call a surprise onside kick, a special form of kickoff in which a team attempts to kick the ball to one of their own players. Because onside kicks are typically unsuccessful, they are usually relegated to desperation scenarios at the end of a game. But teams had occasionally opted to take their opponents by surprise by attempting an onside kick earlier in the game. That option is now gone, as teams must announce an onside kick attempt in advance.

The net affect in the punting game - the returner will not get time for a lot of zigging and zagging at high speed. Instead they will get tackled quickly by bigger better tacklers at lower speed. This might provide a scenario for lighter linebackers to get a job on ST’s?????

This is the bullshit part.

Demetric Felton Auditions

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport, the Patriots worked out veteran Demetric Felton. Before the 2021 NFL Draft, this draft analyst used the phrase, “Demetric Felton feels like a Patriot.” The UCLA product played running back in college, but was viewed as a utility player, with the potential to play running back or wide receiver in the NFL. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the sixth round (No. 211) of the 2021 NFL Draft. He worked with New England offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt and other members of the Patriots coaching staff during his two seasons with the Browns.

Felton caught 18 passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie. He carried the ball seven times for an additional 24 yards. Felton played 50% of special teams downs as well. His role decreased significantly in 2022. He spent the 2023 season on the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad.

There is no announcement of Demetric Felton taking Jontrey Hunter’s roster spot at this time. However, based on the New England Patriots looking to “weaponize their offensive” and his familiarity with the coaching staff, he is certainly a player to keep an eye on. It is unlikely the roster spot stays vacant for long.

My guess is that both Godchaux and Judon get a healthy bump offer for 2024. It'll be a take it or leave it. Then they can be free agents in 2025 or if they6 both have outstanding seasons try to negotiate new contracts. Too chancy to extend them for their desired 3 or 4 years.

Godschaux is not risky. You know exactly what you get with him.
The real question is his value.

For all we know, Judon is done. Hope not but long term extension is very risky - unless it is not guaranteed money.
(which he should require)

Her's been quoted as saying that he wants top ten DL dollars. Hint.....Chris Jones ($37.15M per year)

Average DL pay for top 20 is approx. $15M per. Don't think he quite falls into that category.
