Do you think the writers will ever relent on the PED stuff? Who are we punishing? How can you tell the story of baseball in that era without some of these guys? Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, Clemens, ManRam, Sheffield, ARodYeah Beltre should be a lock
The ones on the left aren't getting in it seems. A-Rod and Manny should of course, but won't
I think of Vizquel as a hall of famer but I get why he isn't going to make it
It's gonna take more time because it's the old boomers mostly, younger writers get it. The truly big names I think eventually get in (Bonds, Clemens, A-Rod, McGwire...)Do you think the writers will ever relent on the PED stuff? Who are we punishing? It’s weird that they are selective about it. David Ortiz was in the Mitchell report but got in fine. Jeff Bagwell was obviously juicing. It appears if you took PED’s but were a nice guy they overlook it, but if you were a prick then you won’t get in.Do you think the writers will ever relent on the PED stuff? Who are we punishing? For sure, but was Jeff Bagwell? I don’t recall anyone saying anything pro or con against him. I just think fans and writers should just give a blanket pardon cause it’s naive to think just the guys who the Mitchell report. I never read Canseco’s books but I’m sure there are HOF’s in there that he accused cause he accused two Mariners who’s play magically disappearedOne of the requirements is lovable.....Big Papi was well liked, so in he went.....makes sense

Both of them have multiple steroid fails on their ledger. That is different from just having the stink like Sosa, Bonds, Clemens, etc. I compare them to Rose and Jackson must more than the “stink” crowd.Yeah Beltre should be a lock

For me the whole era is tainted. But some players failed tests while others didn’t. ARod knew it was in the rules and not allowed (not just “not desired”) and still had NUMEROUS hits. Eff him.Do you think the writers will ever relent on the PED stuff? Who are we punishing? How can you tell the story of baseball in that era without some of these guys? Put them in and have the steroid stuff written on the plaqueYes, Yes, No, Maybe
