Alright all you college player gurus!
I got a question for you.
Screw edge rushing LBs.
I want to know who you guys think is or could be the #1 all pro candidate MLB/ILB in this draft?
Who is that top guy in this draft?
There is not a clear-cut #1 guy for off-ball LB, which is more the way teams think about it now than a traditional MLB. Jalon Walker of Georgia is a toolsy prospect who may go late first and is similar to another Georgia LB, Nolan Smith, though I think Walker will wind up inside in the pros.

It seems Walker is being seen mostly as a blitzer, maybe more of a SAM than a true Edge or inside LB. Ultimately, he's a prospect that doesn't fit neatly into a predetermined box.

Agree with this. I don't see him as a true inside linebacker or edge. You want to get the guy in space where he can use his athleticism to shut down zone runs, tight ends (what a SAM does), and send him at the QB every so often.

Off ball linebacker seems like his role. He's not great against the run, so I don't think inside linebacker or EDGE works... he'll get swept up too often in plays. Again, you want him in space and IMO on a team that runs zone defense, and then have him in some blitz packages.

Doesn't that go against NFL negotiating procedures? Teams have to negotiate through NFL sanctioned agents unless the player is negotiating for himself. It's to avoid the players being ripped off.

As long as they did not make an official offer I think they can go to him and at least say "Hey we are looking at something north of $40 million...think that can get this done?"

If they make an official offer without including his agent then yes there are a bunch of violations that pop up.

Meh, Micah is just playing out the string until he can come to Philly like Saquon, it's his destiny...

Bad look for Jerry but he's done this numerous times before so what does he care? It's also kind of a bad look for Parsons because he shouldn't be having those conversations without David. David is one of the top agents in the NFL and also responsible for getting the Browns to sign that dumbass Watson contract, you should involve him.

Jerry is a piece of shit, no surprise. As of now, he cannot technically negotiate a formal contract without his agent (unless Micah fires him) but he's trying to corrupt and influence Micah to do something stupid (like firing his agent). And saying stuff like, "You don't need your agent, just work with me. You're a Cowboy for life! I'll take care of you!" Is the kind of stuff Jerry would say and it's a snake move.. because Jerry will 100% make sure to only have his interests in mind and lowball/structure things certainly to screw over Micah in the event he doesn't work out going forward.

It's why agents do NOT want these BUSINESS MEN (which they are too) talking to players that in most cases are not business savvy or don't have the experience on how the business 'game works'. There are smart/business savvy NFL players, but it's far and few between... the NFL and most major sports recognize this which is why it's very specifically protected via the NFL CBA/PA.

As for Micah, it's not a great look either, because I'm assuming David is now very annoyed with him and had these conversations before saying to Micah: "Don't sit down with that creepy old fuck unless I'm there." And Micah did anyway. Again, not a great look.

Haha what did Parsons say that was wrong here? He’s standing up for his agent.

It isn't that he said anything wrong. This more has to do with the fact that Parsons cannot stay off social media for anything that might be tied to him at all. I don't think his agent needs Parsons fighting his battles for him. To me this was one of the concerns when Parsons was going into his draft was that his ego is very fragile and these types of responses and the one he had towards his ex teammate is another one that just shows he struggles with this.

I think it's the fact he sat down and talked with Jerry in private. It doesn't mean he's negotiating a contract, but from what I understand it is very annoying to agents because you're talking about who knows what... and those agents are not stupid, they know what Jerry is trying to do. He's trying to take advantage of a player who likely doesn't have any business sense and circumvent the agent or try to get him fired.

Parsons obviously said, "I'm not negotiating without my agent" but why are you having 5 hour discussions, on the owners personal number list, and then Jerry saying, "Don't even know who this guy is" c'mon... and Jerry 100% knows who David is. David is the highest earning agent in the game right now. And why are you posting this on social media to begin with? It gives a disingenuous feeling. As Lawrence basically said, "Get off social media, dork."

It's just not good business. Put it that way. Not saying agents can't be snakes too, but it's just poorly handled by Jones/Parsons.

Example as a guy: "Where were you tonight? I was trying to get ahold of you and you posted a pic on social media with your old ex?" Girlfriend: "Oh I was with Matt, jut chatting." Guy: "About what?" Girlfriend: "Well we were just talking about relationships and stuff, like it meant nothing. We were just chatting and talking about what we want to do in the future."

You'd be like, "WTF?" "But don't worry, I would never do anything to break what we have and will tell you everything!" Yah fuck that. It's about trust sometimes.

Normal teams quietly sign their core players to extensions and seek to minimize drama. Jerry seems to regard signing his star players as part of the entertainment, and likes to drag it out until the last possible minute.
