Where is the risk that you’re seeing? He was due a league minimum salary of $1.17M, a signing bonus of $11.33M, and a workout bonus of $250K. Only 1 fifth of the signing bonus will count towards the 2025 cap. He has another $1.5M due, which is likely money earned from performance targets reached in 2024. I don't see how Barkley's 2025 cap figure can be reduced. If the signing bonus is increased then the cap figure will increase by 1 fifth of the increase. Fair play to the Eagles for paying a star who outperformed his contract, but obviously this is a risky way to do it.
