Depends on the owner. Great gms need hands off non cheapskate owners. The cap is pretty fake so if they're smart it won't be a problem.
They didn’t have much choice. He found chemistry with the Lions, yes with the “great” O-Line and such. If Lions are smart they will invest in players that help Goff going forward. The building part gets tougher as he now will count an extra $20M on the cap annually, but they had to keep him.

seems this way to me too.By the time the 2nd year of the extension kicks in (2026 season), the salary cap will be about $75M more than it is today.
So Miami inked Waddle for 76 mil guaranteed (3rd behind A.J. Brown/ 84 mil and Amon Ra St. Brown/ 77 mil) and Houston inked Collins for 52 mil guaranteed. With signings like that, Jefferson, Chase and Lamb and their agents should be grinning from ear to ear right now. The price is going up for those top guys. 90 mil guaranteed for a WR is coming, imo.
Winner, winner, chicken dinner.People focus WAY too much on the guaranteed money. If the Vikings give Jefferson a 5 year deal and guarantee him $100M, it means the final 2 years of the deal have $0 guaranteed. In fact I bet his guaranteed amount is closer to $120M than $100M when it finally happens.
The chances of any of these teams getting down the road 2 years, and thinking "Man I really wish I could cut this WR" is so, so slim.
Guaranteed money only means shit if you are signing a guy you might want to move on from in a couple of years. Doesnt mean anything when you are signing these elite young WR's who are under the age of 26.
Guaranteed money is only important when you have to cut a guy. It is hard to imagine a scenario where a 28 year Waddle/Chase/Jefferson/Lamb/Brown being considered burdensome to a teams cap and wanting to move on from them for nothing in return other than cap space.
"Gable Steveson, an Olympic gold medalist and one of the most dominant college wrestlers in NCAA history, is jumping to the NFL to sign with the Buffalo Bills, his agent Carter Chow told ESPN.
Steveson is signing the standard rookie three-year deal and he now will set out to join Bob Hayes as the only athlete ever to win a Super Bowl ring and an Olympic gold medal.
Steveson knows the learning curve will be steep but is excited for the opportunity.
“I have been fortunate to compete at the highest level of competition in my sport but am looking forward to the challenge of seeing how my wrestling skills may translate to football,” Steveson said. “I am grateful to Coach (Sean) McDermott, (general manager) Brandon Beane and the Buffalo Bills organization for giving me this opportunity.”
The 6-foot-1, 275-pound Steveson is expected to play defensive line, something he hasn’t done before during his athletic career. In fact, the first time Steveson ever put on a pair of cleats was at a recent workout for the Bills."

20 years ago, this guy tried it.

Yep.
yep. CeeDee literally stopped to wait for JJ to get his 1st, for this reason.
Had to figure the number would be around this though, right? CeeDee should be looking at about the same. Your boys need to get him and Micah done asap and push some cap ahead, imo. This waiting serves no purpose.yep. CeeDee literally stopped to wait for JJ to get his 1st, for this reason.
They prolly extend Parsons and Lamb...prolly lose Dak.Had to figure the number would be around this though, right? CeeDee should be looking at about the same. Your boys need to get him and Micah done asap and push some cap ahead, imo. This waiting serves no purpose.
Yeah, I agree. They definitely have to extend Micah and CeeDee and it will get done. I just don't understand the delay. Not sure what they do with Dak. Play out this season and see if he shows up in the play-offs? Or try to knock down some of his cap hit? They prolly extend Parsons and Lamb...prolly lose Dak.
