Oh I understand .... Griffin hurt because so much was given up. I also have not forgot Shuler ..... or even Desmond Howard.

I am not saying no to QB, but it's not my decision .... counting on the new FO. If they like QB and want to go in that direction I'll be rooting for him and the team.

One thing for sure that hasn't changed since Cousins left .... they need a plan at QB. Of course I said when KC left ... good luck replacing him.

I have seen very little of any of the "top" QBs this year. I saw Maye quite a bit two years ago and thought he looked good. Have seen little since. I really liked what I saw from Penix last weekend and am looking forward to him playing against Michigan.
I've seen the other three and admittedly didn't watch Maye this year. With Maye, every week I would simply check the box score and see how he did. Some weeks were good and some average.

Context means a lot in a game. It's impossible to judge a QB fairly when you just looked at the box score.

That's why I really don't have an assessment on Maye when people ask me what I think of him. I always defer.

I have a love hate relationship with Kirk. Kirk can ball. Let's be clear. If he had a defense while he was here who knows. Jackson, Garçon, Crowder, Reed, Chris Thompson. That group was a problem.

It just seemed like to me, when we needed Kirk to make a play at the most crucial part in the game he either checked down, threw a pick, or gave up a sack fumble. I'm not sure a defense would have fixed that. Jmo

It's been a train wreck at the position since he left. The first ten weeks of Howell was actually the best we've had since Kirk.

We were winning with Alex, but the anesthetics of his play and the offense wasn't sexy enough for most.

This is the best shot we are gonna get to solve the position.

Box scores in college mean little. Griffin got a Heisman for playing street ball.

Maye is playing with the least talent. William is doing well for a coach that has two guys in the NFL Murray and Mayfield.

My reply to KC is he has a TD to INT percentage is is 270 - 110. Barring injury he goes over 40,000 yards and close to 290 TDs this year but that is an if. Anyone that would not sign up for that probably should be tested.

Agree, Howell for a bit this year was encouraging but then enough tape came out to say WHOA!! I am not calling an end to his career but he has to improve.

So in the end I am going to count on the new FO. For now, I like Penix. I'll know more of how I feel after this weekend.

Is there a world where Ben Johnson gets here and tells the GM "I can fix that guy (Sam)." "Give me Harrison Jr."

Don't overthink this class of QBs! Instead, if you're going to draft one of them focus on what you and your organization have to do to build your team around what each does well in the systems that they are most comfortable working in. I'll say it again. 80% of busts result from organizational dysfunction.

The biggest issues with Williams are his height disadvantage and being born in the age of social media oversaturation.

Daniels isn't a fluke unless you also consider Burrows a fluke. It's the same system that allowed both to flourish. Replicate that as the Bengals did and Daniels will be fine.

Penix is an assassin! I've stated this time and again. Because he doesn't often run (he can) reinjuring himself is minimized. If not for the dynamic component of Daniels, Penix would be the guy that I draft, injuries and all!
Burrows played with different head coach and offensive coordinators at LSU than Daniels. It’s not the same system. Not saying anything about Daniels but it’s not the same. I’m not a fan of Pennix. Don’t like left handed QB’s. There have been about 5 highly successful lefty’s in the NFL. I think Mayehas just as much of a chance to turn out like Mitch Turbisky as he does Justin Herbert.

I don’t know much about Cooper. But Wilson won the award for the best LB and defensive player on the country for a reason
Cooper nice. Explosive and can okay a little OLB. If they stick with a 52 formation, I could see those two playing.

Some of you know my nephews played for three different HBCU teams. Historically after the color line in the NFL was broken many stars came from HBCU schools. In todays world they will never get many players drafted but more than a few will get a chance as UDFAs. In that list of 9 were a few schools that turned out quite a few stars.
