Yes for a qb. If a qb is selected, it should clearly be daniels if available.

I showed you the maye and daniels numbers.

clearly? ok. We will see. What are your thoughts about trading for Fields for our 3rd ( #100 pick) and keeping our #2 pick.

Yes, clearly.
Williams is fragile and i don't want lavar ball trying to tell our head coach how to play his son.

Pennix has double ACL tears.

Nix is good, but not as good as daniels.

Maye is good and better than nix, but not as good as daniels.

Depending upon the head coach and OC, a fields trade must be considered.

IF it's clearly then the Bears are trading Fields to the highest bidder and drafting Daniels at #1. I agree with you a Fields trade must be considered.

Some teams might not mind the williams family antics. I do.

You two are talking about projected talent. NFL talent is not proven until they are in the league.

Daniels has better stats, he also had a better supporting cast.

Right now the so-called experts have Maye rated higher. That can change between now and draft day.

Proving one is better than another is not possible. Neither has taken a snap in the league. I was told Haskins was better than Burrow because he beat Joe out at Ohio State. Clearly Haskins was not better.

I don't get that in all honesty.

I like maye, but daniels is better. Again, these are mock drafts and everyone has their opinion. If somebody can show me how maye is a better qb than daniels, I am happy to reconsider my position.

I am not even sure we should draft a qb. I would not be upset with maye as the pick either. However, daniels is the better qb and played against better competition than maye did.
I have tried my best to keep from investing my emotions into one player. I honestly don't know much about Maye. I don't want to bash any of the QBs because I don't want to box myself in. I really want to be able to be able root for whomever they pick.

I just asked because he seemed to have the most up and down year of them all.

I understand and that makes sense.

I will support whomever we draft. I was dead set against young, but once he got on the field, I supported him.

I was responding to the comment of maye being a "safer pick" and the notion that maye is a better prospect.

There are a lot of absolute comments that are made here and sometimes there is zero evidence to back it up. We all have opinions, but evidence or data is a good thing when engaging in a discussion. If somebody feels maye is a safer pick or better drop back passer and wants to argue with me on it, go for it. I stated I am happy to reconsider my position.

If no evidence is produced and its just opinion, that is fine as well. However, that is the same line of reasoning that led to the rivera debate over the past 3 and a half years in my opinion.

I feel the same. Picking this high is both exciting and daunting.

dad is right when he talks about shiny new toys .... we are all going to be polishing our gem for the next four months. Some will be shiny and some will be tarnished.

Who doesn't want a Mahomes, Allen, Jackson or Burrow? At the same time and I just did it again last night but less than 50% top 10 QBs drafted re pretty damn good. At the same time I look back and two of our best high round draft picks in Samuels and Williams.

The other side of stick is if you pass on a QB and he becomes high end then we spent the next bunch of years saying we should have drafted Tua or Herbert.

For the first time in 20+ years I feel like I have so hope moving forward so I am going to trust in the Harris and his people to rebuild the team. .... for now.

First round QBs bust. First round every position bust. Trading the farm for RG3 and having that turn out the way it did has soured a lot of people of going QB high.

Thing is we don't have to trade the farm for a QB this year and the last time this franchise was relevant and had a real chance (up two scores on Seattle) was when that first round QB was rookie of the year lighting the league on fire.

That didn't work for so many reasons.

I was in on Sam until he showed massive regression. Young QBs are supposed to get better as the year goes on, not worse. I was all in on MHJ or Fashanu until I realized Sam might not be the guy and we are gonna have a top two pick.

For the last four years we have taken the Ron Rivera route. Build up everything else and then drop the QB in. That mindset has led us back to the #2 pick where it all started.

You gotta swing. If you swing and miss this year, you swing again next year. Trading up should not be on the table. By not trading up you give yourself insurance for next year in case you miss. If we miss on QB this year we will probably be picking top 5 next year and you swing again.

We've had some of the best left tackeles (Samuels, Trent) and right guards (Scherff) one can dream of. These guys are HOFers. What did it get us? Now if over that time span if we had say....three different HOF QBs, I'm sure we'd have more to show for it than a couple of close losses in Seattle and a tough loss at home to GB.

It's quarterback.....its always been quarterback. I'm with you on sitting back, not taking a definitive side and trusting the GM.

Sure, I have prospects I like more than others (Daniels, Williams, Penix). I've seen Maye look good too. I'll pump up my favs, but I'm going to try and refrain from killing the one's I'm not so high on, because that QB may end up being the selection.

I'm just Joe Schmo on SportsHoopla.....I have to trust Harris and the new GM on this one, cheer like crazy for whomever they pick and hope for the best.

There isn't a Dwayne Haskins in this draft for me. I feel pretty comfortable about all of them.

As of now this is my level of excitement, I have no idea what any of these guys will do. Don't hold me to this order. Lol

1. Daniels
2. Williams
3. Penix
4. Maye

If not one of those four, I'm rolling with Sam and MHJ or a left tackle.

Oh I understand .... Griffin hurt because so much was given up. I also have not forgot Shuler ..... or even Desmond Howard.

I am not saying no to QB, but it's not my decision .... counting on the new FO. If they like QB and want to go in that direction I'll be rooting for him and the team.

One thing for sure that hasn't changed since Cousins left .... they need a plan at QB. Of course I said when KC left ... good luck replacing him.

I have seen very little of any of the "top" QBs this year. I saw Maye quite a bit two years ago and thought he looked good. Have seen little since. I really liked what I saw from Penix last weekend and am looking forward to him playing against Michigan.
