Which is what makes it inexplicable. If the older guys could do it without all the advances in training and conditioning of today, these youngsters ought to be able to do it too.
I think you are missing the point I believe cal made earlier. The advances with hitters have put an emphasis on torqueing the arm a lot more to put more spin on the ball and the expectations now is that starters throw harder and with more intensity from the very beginning of the arm. The results are more stress on every pitch, which means throwing fewer pitches in the game. And, with the fact that kids are throwing harder and putting more stress on their arms more often, more consistently and at a younger age, a lot more guys need serious surgeries, like TJ. It is an unfortunate reality we live in.

This has already been explained to you by multiple people who know more about the sport than you do. Things being inexplicable to you are both unsurprising and uninteresting.

He's seen these responses already, he's not capable of understanding them.

Well, then they should go back to the old way of doing things where pitchers were much healthier and had much better success.

Fuck are you talking about 'better success'? Those old timey pitchers would get LIT UP today

Nonsense. Gibson, Ryan, Seaver, Carlton, Spahn, Marichal, Koufax and myriad others would dominate today

the best of the best of course would be pretty good at least today. The average pitcher no. Pitchers are better and do a lot more strain on their arms today, which explains the thing you are incapable of understanding

Also I meant the real old timey ones from the 1910s-1940s that used to pitch 350 innings a year like you think they should.

Koufax by the way was out of the league after like 8 seasons...arm trouble. What a pussy.

Who was that, that gave up that monster home run to Bo?
“Big Daddy” Rick Reuschel. Boggs and Bo led off the game with back to back jacks.

Atlee Hammaker had a bad blow up.

Timmeh got so destroyed when out on the city the night before, he didn’t even show up to the game.
