Nick Nickson done soon too. We definitely had it really good with announcers and play by play guys. I can't imagine a post-Jim Fox Kings experience.

As long as it's not another Faust I'm good with that. I still believe Stoll will be considered for that job and I think he will do a good job if so.

Weird article but was checking to see what he's been up to.

Very random, but article doesn't say anything about his passions. Just that he had three girls in his life, and married two of them. My main gripe with Frolov is that one his passions actually wasn't hockey, and he hated the ins and outs that it took to be good. He just happened to be really good at it. Crazy that he's only 42. I feel like I remember him missing a crucial break away against Vancouver in 2010 and Canucks came back to win Game 4 (and eventually take series in 6). Article says he's maybe looking to extend his family, so pretty close to needing to get on that, unless he just goes and gets a younger wife.

That was one of the first articles that popped up on Google, title is misleading too - most of it centers around the women and his relationships with them. I read it and felt I just wasted 5 minutes on something from TMZ.

He always seemed to have another level in him that he just didn't consistently reach but did show now and again. He was damn near impossible to strip the puck from in the corners and against the boards, very Jason Allison like in the puck protection department. Good hands but slow.

After he took that skate to the face he never seemed to be the same again. He did have some solid years in LA though including two 32+ goals seasons. But he just wasn't consistent.

Another link I read after this because it led me down a rabbit hole is the first wife died of sepsis in 2019 and ensuing legal issues with some shared property.

And yes, very strange to think he's only 42.

I feel like I remember him missing a crucial break away against Vancouver in 2010 and Canucks came back to win Game 4 (and eventually take series in 6). Article says he's maybe looking to extend his family, so pretty close to needing to get on that, unless he just goes and gets a younger wife.

I don't know man, more and more women are having kids in their 40s now than ever. I started late (30) and ended late (37) and that was rough as it was, I can't even imagine having a kid now at 50. Great times, loved that time with them but never want to go through it again haha. But I'm glad I started late, between all the jail visits and shenanigans in my 20s I would have been a crap father. All happened when it was supposed to.

And.I completely forgot he was part of one PO run with LA coming out of a three year rebuild. I do recall he had a good series but don't remember the missed breakaway.

But then again I could be thinking of (INSERT KINGS PLAYER HERE) because it seems like no Kings player scores on a breakaway like I see from other teams.

Ray Shero dies at 62, WTF. He built the 2009 Penguins Cup team and set up NJ with guys like Hughes and Hischier. Solid executive.

Greg Millen just passed away at 67 a few days ago as well, I watched him as a kid. Had a decent career as a goalie.

Dudes dropping like flies at young ages, scares the crap out of me.

And in Kings news, Doughty is the Kings nominee for the Masterson.

Corey Perry, being Corey Perry.....

Still doing his thing two decades later, I'll give him that much. But really easy to dislike the guy unless he plays for your team.

Watched that game, Oilers took the lead with about :20 left, McJesus returned.

Was hoping the Blues would have won, back to two points between LA and Edmonton but the Kings hold almost all the tie breakers for PD2.

Man. Just caught the full recap. McDavid right back to where he was and had his fingerprints all over pretty much every goal for the Oilers. Not loving the Kings injuries vs Oilers getting healthy.

TA, the most disappointing player from every team in 2024-25:

Los Angeles Kings

Phillip Danault, C

There aren’t many candidates from a Kings team that has performed well, especially at home, and has challenged Vegas for the Pacific Division title. Danault’s lack of goal scoring could fall into this column, and he’s had only one power-play point despite playing regularly on the second unit. But he’s still a solid, trusted defensive presence. — Eric Stephens

That is a great point and hard to imagine at the same time. I don't know why Dunno is constantly out there on PP2 especially because the PP as a whole is so bad. It wouldn't hurt if Jill tried out someone else there.

Elholm believed to be seriously injured.

Good player but also dirty AF, a lot of the cross checks and subtle jabs that don't get called. Physical player too.

Helps LA for sure if he's out. More responsibility on Nurse which is always a good thing because he isn't that good and I love seeing Nurse and Skinner Specials.

This is lining up to be the Kings best chance to finally eliminate them in the first round. Injuries are part of the game, the Kings have some as well but not as serious.

I see tonight is Amarts last game....big part of 2 cups for LA and like Quickie got another. Great carreer Alec! Of course the 2OT winner for the cup was outstanding but his g7 OT vs Hawks is a competing favorite

Wow...she's annoying.

I'm sure Kopitar doesn't give a hoot about his identifier.

Former King Lemieux suspended four games for punching a linesman on accident trying to hit the other guy. He didn't play in the NHL this season and is in Europe for HC Davos.

Watching the Jets Oilers, ref called a completely ticky tack call on Scheifele for a hook on Skinner. Scheifele is a clown but he barely touched the stick of Skinner but boom up goes the arm.

Oilers didn't score on it but had a ton of zone time because Barron broke his stick on the PK and then Samberg was down for the last 20 seconds of the PP blocking a one timer from McJesus. Penalty expired and then there was a scramble in front and Henrique scores, 2-1 Edmo now end of the second.

Just annoying AF how they just seem to get calls if you breathe on an Oiler.

Good lord am I tired, Junior I left for his 8th grade DC/NY trip and we were up at 3am ansld at his school by 430 for 5am coach departure to LAX. Nice rig, brand new - didn't even have plates. Talked to.the driver and he was pretty cool.

No point sleeping when I got home since I have to work - joked with the kids at dinner adults don't get spring break - and stumbled on this:

Would be interesting to see if the Kings pursue him. If Bowlby is still here I think he makes a run at Marner if he hits the market but this seems to be a more affordable Plan B. This is also contingent on if Kuzmenko decides to test the market, the Kings will need a T6 winger. I don't think Kuzmenko gets close to $6 million on his next deal so he may stay in LA which makes this all a moot point but food for thought. Always good to have multiple plans in place.

Good player if the price is right. Looks like the wheels have completely come off in Vancouver with the Miller and Pettersson fiascos and turmoil they experienced all season long. Maybe Boeser doesn't want that either, great point about security and career earnings.

He's a goal scorer for sure, which it never hurts to have more of, but he's had some injuries. Can't believe he's actually only 28. Sort of surprises me since he's been around awhile. For the right price, I don't hate the idea for the Kings. Kuzmenko hopefully just resigns for decent amount, and we get that for a few years until Kopitar retires. Kempe-Kuzmenko could keep their thing going for a little bit potentially. Hoping this isn't a fluke thing either. What makes me think it isn't, is Kuzmenko did already have that 39 goal season. What's funny is if he scored one more, it would be a no-brainer and impossible to deny him as a 40-goal guy, but something about 39 isn't as gorgeous.

I think everyone is waiting to see how this playoff series against Edmonton looks (Including tonight), and that will determine a good amount too. If Kings win, I could see more guys getting re-upped. If they lose, and especially if they lose bad, I think Kings go for some bigger changes.

But yeah. Boesser on a decent deal isn't the worst. Marner wanting probably in that $14Mil range I am inclined to say "Hard Pass". Unreal talent, but that is such a chunk of change. You can have almost 3 high end (Albeit, not elite) players for that price and nis style is not great for playoff hockey.

And as for Vancouver. Who knows what direction they're trying to go? They had that huge revival last season, and really did have Edmonton down 3-2 in the series before blowing that. Then the Pettersen and Miller drama, as well as Demko hurt all season. Derailed really fast. Ship Miller out, and now they won't put term on Boesser, so he'll probably walk for free. I would say them, and what I read about the Rangers would be the two teams to watch this summer. And whatever is up with Buffalo. Ottawa seems to have finally arrived, and it's crazy to see them at the top of the league in cap hit. Really difficult for them to make anymore big changes, but we'll see (Giroux does come off the books and cap is going up). Detroit seems primed to make a big splash. The Yzerplan hasn't been very smooth, but has made some progress. They'll look to probably add someone big, including a recent article saying they will target Gavrikov hard if he becomes a FA. Ducks have that internal cap they stick to, but they are my bet to take a huge step next year. They have all the pieces to be a fringe playoff team. Sharks still a year or two away. Chicago will get another top pick this year, and I don't think Bedard will be cool with another season like this most recent one. They're going to start spending money too. Calgary might sneak into playoffs this year, maybe, but they are a strange older team. Just have that stud goalie now, so that instantly brightens their future some. Utah who knows. Feel like they just never take that next step. Loaded with talent too. Seattle is bad. That playoff run a few years ago seems like a fluke now. Edmonton actually in some trouble with cap. Draisaitl going up to $14mil next year, and who knows what McDavid will get in another year. They are really in this window right now, which is why this LA-Edm series looms so large for both organizations. And then Vegas. Cutthroat as can be with rosters, and they don't appear to be going anywhere.

Forgive me if this has already been discussed. The Kings look to have about $26.5m in cap space going into next season. How do you see them using that money? Below is the list of the current players being FA's.

Kuzmenko
Jeannot
Laferriere (RFA)
Gavrikov

This is assuming they dont do anything with Rittich and Lewis is finally gone.

How much money is left and who do they go after and for how much?
