I agree but it would depend on the development of the other young guys. Apparently, Jalen Williams is going to be a top 10 player next year and one of the young faces of the NBA so they probably don't want to trade him
A lot of people think Williams will end up being the teams best player. High praise.

And SGA is top 10 as well. Why are they even doing this? They don’t need it. They’re now a team with 2 top 10 players who are young. Just let them play it out with the depth around it haha.
I suspect that's exactly what @thunderc wants them to do, not trade for a big star but go all homegrown pretty much.

I get that. But OKC would be wasting all those pick assets they acquired. The math just ain’t mathing with the number of picks and available roster space. They need to consolidate. If it’s me, I’m going big but I like the whole homegrown feel to things as well.

I’m not opposed to the right deal I guess but I think I know Presti well enough to know he is going to try that approach for a bit. He is having to look at cap implications years out there right now. It’s not going to be easy but man it has to be fun.

Trade the picks for depth I guess just not the centerpiece...but they have enough to do both. It's taken a really long time but Presti has built something that could be spectacular pretty soon.

Nice! That guy doesn’t know dick about basketball so I feel better in saying Maxey is the better player right now and has a higher upside than Herro does as well. Thanks Dan LeBatard.

Yeah 2034, 2036, 2038 and 2040 1st’s incude 2035, 2037, 2039 and 2041 1st round swaps

Assets are assets.

A trade like that would be better for Portland than a trove of fewer picks focused on the next 5-6 years.

Problem is, GMs don’t think long term enough because their longevity rarely extends that long.

But if you put them in the distance and remove the protections?

Those picks could be franchise changing.

Just not anytime soon.

No, he isn’t saying that.

Ja is a ball dominator.

FVV is a ball mover.

Easier to play with ball movers.
Yeah, not hard to figure out. I did not even bother to respond to that.

Part of the reason Memphis plays well without Ja. They move the ball a lot more.
