I think that is fair given Fangio and Hackett's time as Head Coach. I think he wanted out and I don't blame him.
I wonder if he acknowledged his role in the drama that was unnecessary? Im guessing not.

Raiders signing a lot of players today. Quantity over quality may be the theme there.

Which scenario is easier to believe - Sean Payton took the advice from young coach Davis Webb and went after J. Stidham, or Sean Payton decided he wanted Stidham as the backup QB and he thought hiring Davis Webb would help him get Stidham? I believe the latter.

You might think the same dynamic went into signing Zach Allen by hiring coach Vance Joseph.

The other day I saw a video of Samaje Perine sealing off Micah Parsons from his QB and he catches passes - while having only 508 carries of wear and tear on his RB body.

I didn't think much about signing Lil'Jordan Humphery, but I hear the Broncos see him as a pass catching TE who tears it up on special teams. Speaking of STs - with Manhertz, Humprey, Tremon Smith, Perine and resigning PJ Locke the Broncos got significantly more veteran loaded on special teams rather than relying on rookie body types who get lost.

It's hard to believe that the Broncos signed Singleton for the kind of money they would set aside to contract with a 5th round draft pick. Singleton may be the best signing of them all.

how about not much input from Webb either way. That’s where I land. Webb can’t have that much influence “ yet”

this is about providing a viable and semi expensive backup to Russ to push him.

would never work with Rypien as the backup
no pressure at all on Russ

Then you think Webb's relationship with Stidham over the years was a non-factor and that Sean Payton didn't give the back up QB problem any thought until Frede Agency started. Too me that's far too random for me to believe.

didn’t say Payton waited. i’m sure he did his research starting last fall when he wanted to wade back into coaching. Murray was texting him in December about the broncos job and he said watch out what you ask for.
