Any good business allows "supervisor " input into their direct reports.Then you think Webb's relationship with Stidham over the years was a non-factor and that Sean Payton didn't give the back up QB problem any thought until Frede Agency started. Too me that's far too random for me to believe.
Any good CEO relies on input from supervisors as to the quality of the candidates they're considering.
Did the hiring of these coaches influence their FA signings? Absolutely.
Did they hire these coaches to specifically target a back up qb or a replacement DT? Maybe it was a thought, but unlikely it played a significant role. However, I do agree that in the past this thought was a factor, as in the hiring of Hackett with his connection to Rodgers.
Regardless, its been a masterclass for P2 (squared) this off-season so far.
