Then you think Webb's relationship with Stidham over the years was a non-factor and that Sean Payton didn't give the back up QB problem any thought until Frede Agency started. Too me that's far too random for me to believe.
Any good business allows "supervisor " input into their direct reports.

Any good CEO relies on input from supervisors as to the quality of the candidates they're considering.

Did the hiring of these coaches influence their FA signings? Absolutely.

Did they hire these coaches to specifically target a back up qb or a replacement DT? Maybe it was a thought, but unlikely it played a significant role. However, I do agree that in the past this thought was a factor, as in the hiring of Hackett with his connection to Rodgers.

Regardless, its been a masterclass for P2 (squared) this off-season so far.

Broncos sign P Riley Dixon. Second chance with the team that drafted him. Will compete with Waitman.

Guess not.

Time to order that Riley Dixon jersey!

How come every time we sign a black punter, it is only for 1 season?

I don't know what it means, but the trade discussions for Jeudy and Sutton occur at the same time when the Broncos have made offers to Lizzard and Thielen. There certainly appears to be a number of veteran WRs in FA who can be had on one year deals like Beckham, Landry, Golladay, Mecole Hardaway and my old stand by Marvin Jones. The way I add this up is that the Broncos will likely trade Jeudy or Sutton before the next draft. On the other hand - with the way WRs get injured the Broncos may just want to stock up.

I give Jeudy about a .000001% chance to be traded.

I think Denver would be open to move Sutton's contract but it doesn't appear anyone is willing to give what we think he is worth. Something could still happen there but starting to think he will be a Bronco next year as well.

Jeudy should have his 5th year option picked up soon.

Is Mecole Hardaway any relation to Tim Hardaway? ;)

I would keep Sutton over any WR mentioned above other then Lazard and Thielen who are no longer on the market. Thielen is probably just a squeak past his prime now too. Then again a move with Sutton is more about his contract then anything. I still think that is a possibility but as more WR's sign I think it becomes less and less likely.

I think we role with Jeudy, Sutton, Patrick and Hamler and I think with a new coaching staff EVERYTHING in the draft is wide open for us... BPA, BPA, BPA. I think we need to put a stop to the Jeudy rumors though. I have every friend I can imagine hitting me up telling me their team is interested in me. The truth is other teams may be interested but we just aren't interested barring something we can't pass up. I think teams expected Denver to sell low last year when our team became a mess and it carries over from that notion.

Still wish we had kept Seth Williams (random mention)

Damn fool has no idea how long and how much we wanted socks and underwear for YEARS.

Appears Denver went the cheap route with the skid marks and holes.

Jets trade Elijah Moore to the Browns. Jets get the Browns 2nd and the Browns get the Jets 3rd.

I really like Elijah Moore. Was a catch machine in college. Had a good rookie year. Fell in the doghouse last year after a slow start complained about the ball and requested a trade. Finally got it today. Figured that would be the case once Hardman signed with them. Took less then an hour to trade him after the signing.

Really underrated trade here for the Browns, IMO.

Raiders sign Austin Hooper.

Raiders always seem to sign a bunch of FA's after things settle down a bit and the bigger contract are done with. Sorta been a cycle of theirs for the last so many years. A lot of 1 year contracts on that team.

Waitman got a new job quick.

Belichick loves lefty punters.
