Trade Leody Taveras, Yonny Hernandez, Sam Huff, Zak Kent and Owen White for Bryan Reynolds.
Put leclerc on 60 day
Option Demarcus Evans

I think they could get more than that for Reynolds, but from a team in a different position. A team needing one more really good bat to make them WS contenders would give more.

On the other hand, I would not do the trade from a Rangers standpoint simply because White is a potential ace and we need to keep anyone we have like that.

They’re about as sure as Yohander Mendez, Pedro Payano and Ariel Jurado were when they dominated A ball..

Jack Leiter, Cole Winn, Vanasco, Roby, Bradford, Bratt as well as AJ Alexy, Otto, Hearn, Dunning and Jon Gray..11 pitchers with a future.

Not to mention the other pitchers in our minor leagues that will take a step forward this year.

I’m all for trading for a major league proven talent with 3 years of team control left.. could always extend him after year 1 too.

Just watch Kent make the squad later in the year. He will be a situational pitcher and will be used to get out other teams best players on a matchup basis.

Two Rangers in Keith Law 61-80 rankings

22 year old (as of 7 days ago) lefthanded pitcher Yohander Mendez is #75 on KLaw’s list, while 20 year old (at least for 5 more days) righthanded pitcher Ariel Jurado is #64.


Mendez and Jurado are generally seen as two of the consensus top three prospects in the Rangers’ system, along with outfielder Leody Taveras, and this is around the range I think most of us expect to see them place. Law sees Mendez in AAA this year, with #3 potential if he improves one of his breaking pitches, while Jurado, despite his youth, is seen as relatively advanced for his age.


Other interesting placements in the 61-80 range are former Ranger RHP Luis Ortiz, who went to the Brewers in the Jonathan Lucroy deal (and who is #79 on the list), and former Dodger, now Rays pitcher Jose De Leon, who was dealt yesterday for Logan Forsythe, and who is #73.

I thought something might be up when Yonny was removed from the lineup prior to the game. I am disappointed in our local media for not reporting the possibility of that last night. If I noticed that, they certainly should have.

Exactly, Mendez was thought to be a #3 max, if he improved. That is what I was talking about. White has a lot higher ceiling.

I never mentioned Kent, only White.

Just because a guy is placed at #75 one year does not mean he is equal to a #75 or anywhere in the top 100 another year, especially with 5 years difference. Case in point, Luis Ortiz in that 2017 Keith Law report. That must have been a really weak year. Lol

I imagine the trade started being discussed late yesterday. They only remove a guy from the lineup if he is hurt or being considered for a trade, barring something like a suspension. He obviously wasn't hurt.
