Would you equate playing with Larkin and Tyler Bertuzzi to playing with Matthews and Marner in real life? LOL. I would not even expect that from the most homerish of Wings fans, but here we are.

And yes when people are dumbasses in real life I call them on it.
In judging their worthiness of this award you penalized Bunting for his linemates' quality while promoting Raymond as if his linemates had no effect on his own performance. I pointed that out.

Would love to know where I equated anybody because based on this season's performances I don't equate Bunting and Raymond and in general I sure as hell don't equate Matthews/Marner and Larkin/Bertuzzi.

Every player's linemates affects their production. Thanks for the brilliant insight.

It's not so much penalizing Bunting, who had an excellent year, it's rewarding Raymond for doing more with less. He scored 6 points less on a team that scored 80 fewer goals.

And if you weren't equating the two situations, what was the point of bringing up Larkin and Bertuzzi? To point out that they are nowhere near as good as Matthews and Marner? If so, then well done.

Pointing out that he has good linemates in response to you making a post that makes it seem as if Bunting's superior scoring is skewed based on the quality of his linemates doesn't automatically mean i'm saying his linemates are as good as Bunting's. That's a canyon-sized leap there.

So my original point that Bunting has much better linemates stands then?

It's not your point, it's a fact. As is the fact that Raymond's linemates are also very good and in no way held him back from being the best player he could be this season, which was at best the third best rookie forward in the NHL and second best rookie player on his own team.

SO you don't think Raymond's production would have increased had he played with Marner and Matthews? Gotcha.

Name one? So far your argument is linemates lol

Raymond is a more explosive skater and is harder to defend one on one.

Bunting plays a more polished game and works off his teammates really well. An extra 6 years of experience will help Raymond there I would think.
