How can the Lakers take on that extra 7 million in salary when they’re already capped out and in the luxury level?

The Lakers have other contracts coming off the books. They would also only be taking back about $4 million more than they are sending out.

Hayward is set to make $30 million so they would likely need to add another contract. With Scary Terry they would be sending out $51 million and taking back $47 million that they would either buyout or let expire.

I can see why they would do a Hayward deal, because of injuries, he is a bad contract now. Other than, it removes their 2 biggest contracts, not sure why Scary Terry would be the other player since hes an actual good player.
They have to pay PJ this summer. And Bridges.

I could conceivably see Hayward moved for RW but it would take a 3rd team. Just because of the Hornets wanting to keep Bridges. But Rozier is a decent contract that could be moved down the road. He has a few years left.

Doesn't mean that they wouldn't move him but he's got way more value than just RW and some future picks.
Yeah I don’t see it. Jordan isn’t a great GM but he doesn’t do his job to serve at the pleasure of the Lakers to try and bail out bad decisions.

"Pacers Rejected Lakers' Russell Westbrook Trade Offer
, per Report. The Lakers were reportedly in discussion with the Pacers to create a deal to send Russell Westbrook, Talen Horton-Tucker and a 2026 first-round pick to Indiana in a potential exchange for Malcolm Brogdon, according to ESPN's Jonathan Givony."

They shot down that. And that trade made no sense since RW and THT make like 57 mill and Brog makes 22 mill.
I'm sure that also included Hield. And that's literally ALL the Lakers assets outside of AD and Bron

Yea like I said I can see GH. But they literally just extended Rozier lol. People are just throwing him in there to make salaries match like he's some throw in. Dude averaged 19 a game with an 18 PER last year.

How do you take on salary when you’re already over the cap? I thought that was only possible through the midlevel?

Naw.....if we strike out on the Pacers and Hornets and the Knicks strike out on Brunson and Brog.....we might be able to con the Knicks into taking RW. We still have options.
For what? Fournier and DRose?

By whom though? Is it a Lakers site or one of the regular NBA beat guys?

I dont remember. I dont think it was a Lakers site...but it also wasnt Woj, Shams or Windy either. Im pretty sure someone posted it here. If I get bored later, I will see if I can find it.

Don’t do all that for me. I really don’t care all that much.

Yeah. People acting like they don't know how a salary dump works to pay their youngsters.

The thing that makes me skeptical about Rozier, aside from the fact that it seems like hes too good to be in a salary dump is that he is only 28.

PJ, Bridges and Ball are all younger and it looks like MJ wants that trio to be the core.

And that would be fine but they don't need to dump Rozier to move him. Hayward they need to dump to move him.
