Same shit they said about Charles. And everyone will love him in 20 years same way.
Bold move invoking Sir Charles when Dray isn’t in the same stratosphere of player.

Smart move by the Lakers.

No point in putting Anthony day to Davis out there if he isn't 100%.

Just make sure he's on point when the Season begins.

Its not as far apart as you claim but my point is about perception of his "bad behavior". Chuck used to be public enemy #1 too.

I'm watching the Lakers game on a 65 inch flat screen and I still cannot make out a single one of Wenyen Gabriel's facial features.

And one of the best players of his generation and in the top 75 All Time. Dray isn’t close to belonging in that group.

Where did you see that and who did they suggest would give up a first for Westbrook?
Part One: If there is any truth to this article from Lake Show Life, the implication begins that Wembanyama helping the Lakers get better by getting to move Westbrook for less as a way of increasing the chances of the receiving tanking team of getting to be the Wembanyama sweepstakes (Lottery). The Lakers have a 2023 first round pick but it is a swap pick with New Orleans (See included article)

In this particular article, the author states there is little chance that the Lakers can actually get a shot at Wembanyama directly but implies that when teams start tanking, a Westbrook trade would improve the tanking teams' chances at Wembanyama by getting less picks from the Lakers and receiving Westbrook who they would buy-out. The team would then tank even though the rules for the lottery have changed. See the article (Third paragraph from the bottom).

Granted it is a bit of stretch but if the Lakers have a crappy year themselves, then they could qualify for the Lottery and they could still trade Westbrook for less. If the Lakers pick (Lottery determined, if Lakers record finishes crappy) is higher than the Pelicans pick, then they swap picks.

Part Two: How does all of this get the Lakers close to drafting Wembanyama? Although some pundits have started garbage rumors that somebody (speculated to be Dallas) may offer a First Rounder to the Lakers in a potential mega deal involving Westbrook and AD for example (thus far unsubstantiated) the likelihood of that occurring is probably bullshit at this point.

The First Rounder offered would have to come from a lottery team and the Lakers would have to hope they get close enough with that team's lottery placement to use it to select Wembanyama because the Lakers' own pick, if they qualify either by play-in or lottery placement, would be swapped to the Pelicans. That is def a lot of ifs and stretches but every hoops rumors that suggests otherwise is probably fertilizer.

The Dallas deal speculated, in yet another Lakes Show Life Article (included below) discussed the movement of players but no First Rounders by either the Lakers or the Mavs would be part of deal. So at this point, any article suggesting a team would give a First Rounder in a Westbrook deal is probably a speculative wet dream of some pundit.

We have seen people reach trying to get things for the Lakers before but my God this one takes the cake.

Ok but really missing my point.
Oh no I got you. But a layer of how you can evolve from being that bad boy is that Charles was fucking great and Draymond is what? The best role player of his era? That’s the top end. Role players are still role players.

Eh, again, you're undervaluing the guy. It happens a lot, his value is very contextual and hard to fully grasp. But they don't win any rings without him. Maybe the KD team does but they wouldn't be an all time great team

Yea, it right up there thunderc.

Strangely enough I do have a feeling that the league could pull some shenanigans with this kid. I watched the Donaghy game fixing documentary last night, that one will definitely leave you knowing the nba will do some shady shit.

Oh I agree role players are important. You need a guy like that who just doesn’t want shots because he just can’t make shots placed around the Splash Bros and KD. A lot of Robert Horry teams wouldn’t have won without him either. Role players are very important. And also…they’re role players.

Yea, I have seen that and read some articles in the recent past indicating the same thunderc. The almighty Benjamins and the appearance that Silverman is the back pockets of the owners is one of the perceptions fueling this growing mistrust. Something akin to Gary Bettman, the commish of the NHL and the owners there.
